Jaron Ennis vs. Uisma Lima 2025 10 11

Jaron Ennis makes his eagerly awaited return to the ring as the man from Philadelphia hopes to continue his winning ways before his adoring fans. The popular welterweight seeks a 35th win from as many contests and hopes the home support will drive him to another positive result. The majority of those in the stands cheering for “Boots” hope to see another showreel knockout, and the fighter hopes to deliver. The coaching staff at Team Ennis will be happy with a win of any description, knowing there are bigger and better fights to come.

Ennis is far more experienced than the man starting in the opposite corner, and there are no surprises in the pre-fight betting odds. Traders have the home win chalked up as a strong favourite, pricing Ennis as if losing isn’t an option. That’s understandable, given his recent form and home support, but anything is possible in the fight game. Will we see another upset? Former professional boxer Frankie Monkhouse offers his preview and predictions.

Ennis vs. Lima Odds

The leading online bookmakers available to customers in the US offer pre-fight and live betting odds on Ennis vs Lima. This allows us to study the statistics and trends, compare the odds, and identify the best bet. You want a winning prediction, but it must also be at the highest odds available. A +1000 winner is great, but not if you could’ve had the same bet at +1500 simply by shopping around. It’s important to check what’s available at our betting partners before risking your hard-earned stake.

As you can see from the table posted above, Ennis is a hot favourite. That means, if you expect the home win this weekend, you’ll likely be forced into the specials. Thankfully, there are several ways to bet on Ennis vs Lima, including many eye-catching specials and promotions. Have your say on the total rounds in this contest, the bout to end inside 60 seconds, or which round the clash will end. Regular readers of my previews already know the market I love best is the method of victory, as it offers excitement and betting value.

When betting on the method of victory, you must predict both the winning fighter and how they’ll achieve the result - on points or by stoppage. Often, spending time studying the stats and form of both men leads to a strong bet at a nice price. Given the fight-winner odds, it’s no surprise to see Ennis by KO/TKO as the market leader, and I’m happy to follow. I’m picking Ennis to win inside the distance, putting on a show, setting up bigger fights.

  • $70 on Ennis to win by KO/TKO @ 2/7 at bet365

With the above bet, you’ll land a $90 return if Ennis stops Lima at any stage of the contest. The winning round isn’t important here; you need the bout not to last 12 rounds and Ennis to leave as the victor. If the favourite wins on points, Lima wins by any method, or the bout ends in a draw, your wager loses and the bookmaker keeps your stake.

Ennis Form and Figures

Jaron Ennis enters with a professional record of 34 wins from 34 fights, including 30 knockouts. An 88% KO average gives armchair fans and casual boxing followers an idea of what to expect here. The 28-year-old from Pennsylvania was last seen in action scoring a sixth-round TKO win over Eimantas Stanionis in Atlantic City in April. That victory saw Ennis win the IBF world welterweight title, and he did it in style, dropping his opponent in round six before forcing the stoppage.

Checking his recent form, we see Ennis has won three of his previous four contests without the help of the scoring judges. In addition to stopping Stanionis, the champion also halted David Avanesyan and Roiman Villa. If the local is anywhere near his best and this fight has his full attention, I’m confident he’ll give the scoring judges another easy night. Jaron is powerful, yet fit, and boasts great footwork.

Lima Form and Figures

Uisma Lima is a 32-year-old Angolan fighter living in Portugal. The IBO super welterweight world champion moves down in weight, boasting a career record of 14 wins and 10 knockouts, with only one defeat. The only man to stop him so far was Aaron McKenna at the York Hall in London back in 2023, over ten rounds. That bout was for the WBC International middleweight title, showing Lima has fought two divisions higher than his rival.

Lima travels to the US from Europe on a four-fight winning run. He scored back-to-back wins in Germany before going to Canada and winning the vacant IBO super welterweight title on points against Sukhdeep Singh Bhatti. Lima defended with a ninth-round stoppage win in South Africa last time, meaning he travels with confidence.

Ennis vs. Lima Prediction

Lima is the naturally heavier fighter and will try to make that count. He’ll come to fight, but that’ll play into the hands of the more experienced Ennis. I expect the home favourite to keep things tight, bank the early and middle rounds, before taking Lima out at the business end of the contest. It’ll be a great night for Team Ennis and fans.
