This fight is for the European featherweight title
Glasgow provides the backdrop for an exciting night of boxing
Collins boasts an unbeaten record and the home support
We make a rare trip to Glasgow, Scotland, for the standout of this week’s professional boxing action. Local fighter Nathaniel Collins is the next big thing in Scottish boxing, but the unbeaten featherweight must prove his worth by winning the European title. To achieve that, needs to find a way past another unbeaten gladiator in Spain’s Cristobal Lorente. Will Collins and his tartan army be cheering an important victory? Here’s the latest betting odds.

Traders working at all major bookmakers make a home win the most likely outcome here, pricing Collins as the pre-bout favourite. Odds-makers like his perfect record and know the influence a loyal and loud Scottish crowd will have on the contest. Do you agree? Fight fans can follow the market and back the favourite or take a chance on the underdog. Big-fight upsets and shock results occur frequently in prizefighting. Could we see another here?
Picking the winner on Saturday is the easiest way to bet on Collins vs Lorente. Decide which warrior will leave with the European title, place your stake, and confirm the bet. You now have a one-in-three chance of making a profit. If your fighter wins, the profits will appear in your balance quickly. If the bout ends in a draw or the opponent wins, your bet loses, and the bookmaker keeps your stake.
Predicting the fight-winner isn’t the only way to play. The top sportsbooks offer dozens of pre-fight and live betting markets, including total rounds, winning round, and round group betting. Regular readers of my boxing previews know I value the method of victory market. With this approach, you must predict both the winning fighter and how they’ll get the desired result - on points or by knockout. It’s more challenging than picking the winner, but the odds make it worthwhile. I’ve found that the more you research a contest, the more likely you are to land a method of victory.
Here is an example of how to place a bet on Collins vs Lorente.
$20 Lorente to win @ 7/2 at bet365
With the above wager, you’re risking a $20 stake on Lorente to win. If the contest goes as planned, you’ll receive the returns, earning $90. That includes your original $20 stake. But if Collins wins or the bout ends in a draw, your wager loses.

Nathaniel Collins is attracting plenty of attention in his homeland, building a sizable following. He brings an impressive 17-0-0 record into this contest, winning eight bouts inside the distance. Despite being a fans’ favourite in Scotland, Collins isn’t yet a big name in British boxing or on the global scene. He’s ranked number two in the UK behind Nick Ball, and 17th in the world, a list also topped by Ball, with Mexico’s Rafael Espinoza in second. Victory on Saturday wouldn’t move him into pole position, but it would drive Collins up the world featherweight rankings, ruffling feathers on the way.
We last saw Nathaniel in action when stopping Edinburgh’s Lee McGregor inside four rounds for the vacant WBC silver title. That Scottish showdown quickly descended into all-out war, with Collins sending his rival to the canvas three times in round four, prompting Team McGregor to throw in the towel. I was ringside that night, sitting in the press department, and it was a ferocious performance in a real Glasgow vs Edinburgh grudge match. Nathaniel must rise to the occasion again, winning the title and setting up a money-spinning defence later this year. That’s the goal for Team Collins and his army of expectant supporters.

Cristobal Lorente won’t have many friends at the Braehead Arena on fight night. He’ll also step into the ring as the underdog with all major bookmakers, but the fighting Spaniard wouldn’t have it any other way. He has already proven that he’s comfortable fighting in front of his fans or causing an upset from the away corner. Nothing will faze him on Saturday as he’s experienced enough to know the crowd can’t get into the ring and help their favourite. It’s one-on-one, and anything can happen. That’s just one of the reasons why championship boxing is so popular worldwide.
Lorente jets from Barcelona to Glasgow and walks into the lion’s den with a professional boxing record showing 20 wins, no defeats, and a couple of draws. He first won the European title in 2023 with a third-round stoppage in Barcelona. He then got off the canvas in round six to score a hard-earned majority points win in Tirana last summer. In 2025, Lorente has fought once, defending his title with a split decision draw against Ruben Gil in Spain. That was a little too close for comfort, and Team Lorente will plot to be far more convincing here, silencing the Scottish crowd.

Lorente will come to fight, but that’ll play into the hands of his opponent. The Spaniard hasn’t impressed or convinced in recent outings, and I’m picking the home win on Saturday. The Nightmare from Bearsden has beaten two of his previous five opponents inside the distance, and the support will roar him to another showreel win.
