Harry Kane was the top scorer in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season
There are several contenders to finish as the Bundesliga top scorer this term
The campaign will feature 34 rounds of fixtures spread over a nine-month period
The 2024/25 Bundesliga season began on August 23 and will run until May 17. Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are the two contenders to win the title, but there are plenty of other things to look out for.
One of those is the race to finish as top scorer. Harry Kane won the award last term and he is in pole position to triumph again this time around. The Bayern Munich frontman has made the net bulge 24 times so far this season, although he did not strike against Mainz at the weekend.
That gives Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick a glimmer of hope, but as the odds below illustrate he is a rank outsider. The Czech Republic international is now five goals behind Kane, so he probably needs a hat-trick or two to overtake the England captain at the last minute. Kane has one hand on the prize.

Harry Kane is the clear favorite to finish the Bundesliga season as top scorer for the second year in a row. The Bayern Munich striker was recently helped by Manchester City, who signed his closest contender Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter window.
Kane has 21 goals to his name, putting him six clear of the chasing pack. The England international is currently out injured, but he is expected to return soon. Even if he were to miss the rest of the campaign, Kane could still top the goal charts.

Patrik Schick scored seven times as Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title last season. After just 20 appearances in 2024/25, Schick has more than doubled that tally with 15 goals to his name. The Czech Republic international is now Harry Kane’s closest contender following Omar Marmoush’s exit.
The question is whether Schick can keep this form up. He has been a streaky player in the past and Leverkusen have other attacking options which allows them to share the goals around. However, Schick could pounce if Kane remains sidelined for a while.

In some ways, Serhou Guirassy’s season has mirrored that of his club, Borussia Dortmund, who are through to the last 16 of the Champions League while sitting 10th in the Bundesliga. Guirassy has scored 10 goals in Europe but, until this weekend, he had only managed nine in the league.
Guirassy then hit four strikes past Union Berlin in Dortmund’s 6-0 win at the weekend. The Guinea international was unstoppable last time out and his odds have been slashed in this market, although he remains an outsider.
