Nationals: Austin Voth (1-0, 4.35 ERA)

Voth was terrific in his last outing, an 8-1 win over the Orioles.

The Braves’ righty is making his first start since June 10th, due to a stint on the IL with plantar fasciitis.

  • Gausman was struggling in his previous three starts before the injury, allowing 17 earned runs in 8.1 innings.
  • The Braves’ starter did go six straight outings without allowing a homer to opposing batters.
  • Gausman had just three quality starts in his last ten appearances prior to his foot injury.

The Nationals are the only team in the National League East that have kept pace with the Braves, going 26-11 since June 1st.

  • 2B Brian Dozier is 5 for 21 against Gausman with one triple and one homer.
  • SS Trea Turner is 5 for 10 against the righty with one double.
  • 3B Anthony Rendon is a scorching 7 for 17 versus Gausman with one homer and three RBI.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves have been incredibly hot since June 1st, winning 28 of 40 games. The offense has scored 55 runs in their first 12 games of July.
