Jayden Daniels won Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2024
The Commanders are picked second in the NFC East
Russell Wilson will start at quarterback for the New York Giants
We have an NFC East battle to open the 2025 season with the Commanders and Giants. New York will travel to Washington for the matchup.
Jayden Daniels and the Commanders swept the Giants in 2024, winning both games by a combined eight points. I’ve targeted three props for the game on Caesars Sportsbook.

LSU has churned out amazing wide receivers over the years, and Malik Nabers lived up to the hype in his rookie season. Nabers established himself as one of the best receivers in the NFL last year, and the sky is the limit.
Nabers was fifth in the NFL in receptions with Daniel Jones as his quarterback, and this is a remarkable feat. He had 109 catches for 1,204 yards with seven touchdowns.
Nabers easily would have won the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year if it weren’t for Daniels and Bo Nix last season. Now, Nabers has a Super Bowl-winning quarterback in Russell Wilson throwing him the ball, which should result in more production.
The reason Nabers had so many catches and was top ten in yards last season is because the former NFL Coach of the Year Brian Daboll would force the ball to him early in games.
Nabers was always getting quick screens thrown his way. This got the athlete in space, and he was able to turn mismatches into yards.
Nabers had a great game against the Commanders in September of last season. He was targeted 18 times and ended with 10 catches for 127 yards with one touchdown.
The receiver didn’t have the same production against the Commanders on November 3rd, only racking up 59 yards. Yet, he totaled 29 targets between the two games, so Daboll emphasized getting him the ball.
If the Giants take this same approach, Nabers should sail over this line with a superior quarterback in Wilson throwing him the ball.

There was a lot of drama involving Terry McLaurin in the offseason for the Commanders. The receiver had a great season in 2024, and felt he deserved a contract extension.
McLaurin had 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was second in touchdowns and 15th in receiving yards.
The receiver did an excellent job helping Jayden Daniels settle into the game, which ultimately made him become one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
McLaurin got his extension in the offseason, and he should pay Washington back with another great season. The receiver is a stud, and will be involved in a lot of the quick passing game.
More receptions equate to a higher chance of finding the end zone. McLaurin will also be a great deep ball threat pending Washington can protect Daniels.
McLaurin scored in one of the two games against New York last season.

Jayden Daniels is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL. He isn’t on the same level as Lamar Jackson, but opposing teams must respect his legs.
The Giants are in for a disappointing season in 2025. They have some talent, but their schedule is brutal, which will make it tough to win games.
However, New York has an elite front seven that should be attacking Daniels throughout the game. Kliff Kingsbury calls designed runs with Daniels, but the quarterback also improvises.
Daniels' rushing line is set at 42.5, and he should sail over this line. The Commanders' offensive line struggled to protect Daniels in 2024, so scrambling will likely be on his mind.
Daniels had 35 and 44 rushing yards in his two games against the Giants last season. New York got better on the defensive line in the offseason, so I expect a big rushing day from Daniels.
