The name of Resorts Casino carries the weight of history: back in 1978, it was the first legal casino in the US not located in Nevada, when it opened at 1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The iconic casino is still in place today, but they’ve also very much updated for the 21st century. Not least in the Resorts Online Casino platform, available on desktop and mobile for anyone physically located in the state of New Jersey – and this page is your complete guide to the site.
We’re covering it all in this review: bonuses, games, software, banking, and much more. We’ve got the info you need to know before you sign up, and areas where we think the site can improve in the future. Let’s jump in.
From the welcome bonus and on-running promos to the real-life prizes up for grabs in Resorts Atlantic City, there is a lot to like about the promotions available at Resorts. There’s a dedicated section on the homepage where you can find all the promotions currently live, with new interesting offers launched regularly.
We’re covering everything in this section, so you’ll know what to expect if you decide to register with Resorts.
First up is the welcome bonus, which is a 100% boost on your first deposit up to a max of $500.
The minimum you can deposit is $10 and you'll get your Resorts Casino Bonus withing 72 hours of placing your deposit.
The wagering requirement for slots is x5 and table games and video poker x10, but there is just 5 days to complete the wagering requirements associated with this promo offer.

Every day, every single Resorts player gets a single play on a Resorts Daily Game – either a slot game or wheel game. The prizes vary massively, from bonus dollars worth $1, $2, $5, $50, $10,000 and the grand prize of $3,000,000. You can also receive entries into the weekly giveaways, which are worth $1,000 each.
We like this promotion. It’s simple, it gives you a decent chance to win good prizes, and best of all, it’s every single day. The tantalizing possibility of the $3 million jackpot is fun too.
Resorts Rewards is the loyalty program that all Resorts players automatically qualify for. It works similarly to other casino’s VIP programs: you receive Rewards Points any time you make real money bets on the site. Those points can then be used to play real money casino games, or converted to cash which you can withdraw.
As you earn more points you also climb up the rewards ladder. There are five stages – bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond – and as you climb you unlock more benefits.
The Rewards Program really becomes valuable for anyone that actually goes to Resorts in Atlantic City. All levels are eligible for exclusive offers for the hotel and casino, and as you progress you’ll receive enhanced discounts, vouchers and more.
If you’re a regular at Resorts, it’s an excellent feature.
There’s also an even more exclusive loyalty program called Echelon Rewards. It basically works the same way, but for high rollers. You’ll need to be betting – or winning – a large amount of money regularly to make it, but if you do you can get luxury benefits at the casino.
Resorts has been one of the most recognizable buildings in Atlantic City for more than a century, long before it became the city’s first legal casino in 1978. Before that the property was a hotel complex named Chalfonte-Haddon Hall, originally founded all the way back in the 1860s.
Resorts had a rocky early history, as more and more luxury casinos arrived to take advantage of the new gambling laws in the state. In the 1980s the company was jointly owned by Donald Trump and Merv Griffin, before changing hands to Sun International in the 1990s and Colony Capital the following decade.
By 2009 Resorts looked all but likely to go out of business, with the casino unable to pay its loans and Colony Capital on the brink. Days before the deadline, an entertainment company called DGMB headed by Dennis Gomes assumed control. The following year, a massive renovation was under way, creating the Roaring Twenties theme.
Resorts’ online history began in 2014, when its first online platform launched. The company also has a deal with PokerStars, which offers online poker in New Jersey under a license from Resorts.
Resorts have a very good selection of games – with around 700 in total on the menu – making it certainly competitive with other top online casinos in New Jersey. Resorts is powered by the NYX gaming software platform, and includes games from providers like IGT, NetEnt, NextGen and many more.
Slots are the bulk of the catalog, with around 600 in total. Plenty of the most iconic online slots from over the years are on the menu, like Starburst, Dead or Alive and Narcos. It’s a really good and varied selection at Resorts, including slots from a huge range of themes and formats, from old classics to brand new releases.
The variety of software providers represented is good too, helping the menu feel fresh and varied at all times.
The range of table games at Resorts is great, with more than 50 different tables and a good variety in terms of types of games. There are lots of variations of blackjack, roulette and video poker as well as baccarat and keno. There are also bingo style games.
Overall, this is a better selection of table games than the average NJ casino.
Resorts has a handful of scratch games on the menu, including Medusa, Irish Eyes Scratch and Merlins Millions Scratch.
There are lots of live dealer tables available at Resorts. The software is provided by Evolution, the most popular provider at live casinos in New Jersey, and consistently excellent in technological terms.
As well as the regular live tables, which we’ll get into below, Resorts has another interesting live feature. In the Resorts Live tab, you can watch friends of the casino stream themselves playing both online slots and live table games live. The presenters are entertaining and engaging, and it’s a fun new way to experience live games online – even if you’re not playing yourself.
Blackjack makes up the majority of the live tables are Resorts, with at least 9 separate tables running. Some are timetabled – normally from 11am-3am – but there are also 24 hour tables.
In addition to regular stakes tables, you’ll also find VIP blackjack with higher limits aimed at high rollers.
There are three types of roulette available: regular live roulette, auto-roulette (which doesn’t feature a real dealer) and Lightning Roulette, which introduces random multipliers to certain numbers.
There is one live baccarat table on the menu, and a couple of Evolution’s more out-there live table games too. Dream Catcher is a Wheel of Fortune style game, where you pay to spin a wheel and win random prizes. Side Bet City is a simple card game with an amazing 80’s Sin City aesthetic. It’s a fun change from the regular tables.
Resorts online sports betting is no longer available in NJ.
You can download the Resorts app, for both iPhone and Android devices, from the App Store and Google Play Store.
The app lets you play your favorite Resorts games from anywhere in New Jersey, as long as you have your phone.
It’s been a few years since the Resorts app got an upgrade, and in truth it’s not the most sophisticated mobile casino platform around. The layout and the navigation is a little old and clunky, although the games themselves work perfectly.
Compared with some of the best NJ apps – like Harrah’s for example – it’s a little behind.
Resorts’ app is rated around 2.5/5 on the App Store from 148 ratings, which feels about right.
No one in New Jersey is short of options when it comes to online casinos, which makes it all the more difficult to choose which one to go for. Check out the table below to see how Resorts Casino compares with other options.
Resorts offer a solid range of deposit methods, more or less average for NJ online casinos and sportsbooks. At the moment PayPal is the only e-wallet accepted, so we’d like to see another one added.
There are no transaction charges from Resorts, and all deposits come with a $10 minimum. Max limits are customizable, and Resorts encourages users to set limits that make sense for their plans. There’s also advice for managing your spending available in the cashier, which is good to see.
Most of the withdrawal methods at Resorts take 3 days in total, which we are more than happy with. There is a 72-hour mandatory pending period on all withdrawals, with your money released as soon as the technology allows after that.
Plenty of NJ casinos – like Scores or Harrah’s for instance – have a pending period of 5 days or more, so this is an improvement.
PayPal or the Scores Card are your fastest withdrawal methods, while an ACH transfer will take a couple of extra days.
Overall, we’re giving Resorts a high score for banking and withdrawals.

We have a rule of thumb: the more channels to communicate with your casino the better, and Resorts ticks all the boxes.
You can access the live chat support from the box at the bottom of the screen. This is always our preferred method when we’re looking for extra information fast.

Resorts has been one of the biggest names in gambling in the US for decades, and its online platform has been around since 2015. In general terms, the software isn’t especially modern but it certainly ticks all the boxes from a security perspective. All the personal data hosted on the site is encrypted, including the proof of address and ID needed to verify your account.
The games at Resorts come from top casino software providers like NetEnt and IGT, who have their RNGs tested regularly for fairness by independent testing labs. eCogra and iTech labs both certify NetEnt, for instance.
Resorts has a detailed Responsible Gaming section, where you can customize limits and learn about ways to manage your spending and take a break if needed.
Resorts is fully licensed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, under Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City. All the activity on the site is monitored and regulated by the NJDGE, and no casino in the state can legally accept players without the license.
Our experts always come back with some “room to improve” suggestions for every site they review, and Resorts is not different.
In terms of overall software – both for the desktop and the mobile app – Resorts feels a little behind the best sites in New Jersey. It doesn’t really detract from the enjoyment of the games themselves, but it certainly doesn’t enhance it either. A redesign for both platforms, to make the whole experience a little sleeker and more modern, would be nice.
The welcome bonus has a great upper limit of $1,000, but it’s true that 30x wagering requirements are a little steep compared with some sites. If they were lowered – and with the addition of a no deposit bonus along with the boost – the welcome bonus would really go next level if that were changed.

Our experts’ overall opinions about Resorts were overwhelmingly positive. We love the daily bonuses every time you log in, and the $1,000 welcome bonus is definitely well above average in the state in terms of total value. Resorts Rewards is an excellent VIP program for anyone who drops into the brick and mortar casino from time to time.
The games menu is very solid, ticking a lot of the boxes we look for: tons of slots, deep selection of table games, good live dealer options. Banking worked perfectly during our tests, and the withdrawal speed is above average for the state,
