Cracker Barrel 400 NASCAR Kyle Larson Prediction June 1

Cracker Barrel 400 Predictions

Ross Chastain Has Momentum from Breakthrough Win at Charlotte

Ross Chastain’s victory in last Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 was all the more impressive because Chastain started dead last and worked his way through the field.

An adjustment to his No. 1 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet in the final segment of the race brought the car to life, and Chastain was able to pass William Byron for the lead and the win with six laps left.

That was a 600-mile race, however, and Sunday’s Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway is just 400 miles long.

Accordingly, Chastain will have to qualify closer to the front of the field, and that has been a real issue this year.

Chastain’s average starting position over 13 races is 25.0, and though he improves more than 11 positions per race on average, we can’t back him in a shorter event at +1000 via bet365 Sportsbook, even though he won at Nashville in 2023.

Chastain will get extra seat time in Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, but that won’t help much in the tuning of the Cup car for Sunday.

Can Toyota Claim Its First Victory at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday?

The NASCAR Cup Series has raced at Nashville Superspeedway just four times, after NASCAR opted to revisit the track in 2021.

Chevrolet drivers won the first three races at the 1.5-mile concrete oval, and Ford driver Joey Logano triumphed last year on the way to his third series title.

Toyota drivers have come close but have never claimed the winner’s trophy. So, who among the Camry drivers is the best candidate for a breakthrough victory?

Denny Hamlin is the first driver who comes to mind. He led 53 laps last Sunday at Charlotte before running short of fuel in the late going.

In his four starts at Nashville, Hamlin has won two poles and led a combined 265 of 931 laps. The problem is that Hamlin hasn’t converted his strong performances into victories.

We think Hamlin will be a contender this Sunday at +550 via bet365, but he’s not our pick to win the race.

Kyle Larson Needs Strong Showing to Erase Pain of Double Attempt

When it comes to racing, Kyle Larson is legendary for his short memory. Win or lose, he moves on to the next race with Zen-like calm.

Last Sunday’s attempt at the Indianapolis 500/Coca-Cola 600 double, however, left him disappointed at both ends.

Larson crashed on Lap 92 at Indy and fell out of the race. After flying to Charlotte, he led laps in the early going but damaged a toe link on his No. 5 Chevrolet during contact with the wall.

Subsequently, Larson spun through the infield grass and ultimately was collected in a five-car wreck that put him out of NASCAR’s longest race.

Though Larson won the inaugural Cup race at Nashville in 2021, he downplayed his chances this weekend.

“We’ve been good at Nashville, but we haven’t been great, which you need to be to win there,” Larson said. “I know I won in 2021, but since then I think we have some more to work on. Hopefully, we can qualify well and build off of that.”

We think Larson will do just that and rediscover his winning ways on Sunday at +500 via bet365.
