NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Victor Wembanyama, Jamal Murray & More Picks for Saturday, April 4

With the Final Four on the menu for Saturday night, I’ve assembled my top five NBA player prop picks for the day's games.

Cooper Flagg put up a career-high 51 points in a loss for the Dallas Mavericks against the Orlando Magic last night, while rookies Jeremiah Fears (28 points, eight rebounds, six assists) and Maxime Raynaud (28 points, nine rebounds) dueled in what ended up being a win for the Sacramento Kings.

There are only three games today, but that includes the Denver Nuggets hosting the San Antonio Spurs in a crucial battle in the Western Conference, as well as the Philadelphia 76ers taking on the Detroit Pistons.

Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Saturday, April 4.

Best NBA Player Props Today 2024 04 04 Jamal Murray

Bam Adebayo over 24.5 points (-118)  at FanDuel Sportsbook

Adebayo appears to have completely lost his mind, as he said in a recent interview that the entire league looked at him differently as a scorer after his 83-point game. As he prepares to meet the Washington Wizards for the first time since that historic night, he enters on the back of a 29-point performance against the Boston Celtics’ strong defense.

The burly big man went under this line in five of six games and actually split the over/under in two matchups with the Wizards. However, he seems hell-bent on proving a point that he can score, and the Wizards allowed the second-most points per game in the entire NBA.

Victor Wembanyama under 28.5 points (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Not that I think Nikola Jokic is a great defender, but Wemby, who scored 41 points in consecutive games, is in for a shock to the system after facing the devastated lineups of the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls. He also went under this number in four straight games before his last two outings.

The Nuggets were slightly below league-average in points allowed per game the last few weeks, and Wemby hasn’t seen them this year. However, I expect them to try to wear him out on the defensive end, which could take away from some of his offensive potential.

Jamal Murray over 24.5 points (-120) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Spurs fall into a classic category of having such strong perimeter defenders that they actually might be an easier matchup for a scoring guard. That phenomenon occurs because defenses won’t be inclined to send double-teams to the ball-handler, since they trust their one-on-one defenders.

Murray scored 39 and 37 points in his two matchups with the Spurs this season. Although Wemby missed both of those games, he just finished March averaging 25.9 points per game on extremely efficient shooting splits, and he went over in three of his last four games, including a 37-point outburst in his last outing.

Jalen Duren over 11.5 rebounds (-128) at FanDuel Sportsbook

I wouldn’t be as inclined to take this pick if Joel Embiid was going to be available for the 76ers, but as it is the second night of a back-to-back, I’m expecting him to be watching from the bench. That leaves Duren against Adem Bona, Andre Drummond, and the rest of Philly’s offerings.

The 22-year-old went over in three of his last five contests and had 14 rebounds in Thursday’s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He had 10 rebounds in only 15 minutes against the Sixers on March 12, and I like his chances in this one.

Tyrese Maxey under 2.5 threes (+110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Maxey missed a few weeks in March and, in four games since returning to action, went 7-23 (30.4 percent) from beyond the arc. He also split the over/under but only shot 6-23 (26.1 percent) from three in two previous matchups with the Pistons.

Even without Cade Cunningham in the lineup, the Pistons ranked fourth in made threes allowed per game over their last 15 contests. Maxey went under in three straight games, and there appears to be a lot of value on this line.
