Tropicana Casino is a reputable online casino that’s part of the Caesars Entertainment brand. It offers New Jersey and Pennsylvania players a decent selection of games, secure banking options, and the top-rated Caesars Rewards program. I was given a budget of $1,000 for this Tropicana Casino review to fully test out this online casino and everything that it has to offer.
Tropicana Casino has a solid welcome offer for new players, along with some ongoing promos that change up regularly.
I found that the Tropicana Casino promotions wagering requirements are on the high end - 25x on slot games, and 50x on all other games. They come with a seven-day expiry, which isn’t much time to complete the turnover. Here are the promotions that were available during my Tropicana review:
Tropicana offers new players a 100% match of up to $200 on their first deposit. The bonus funds can only be used to play slot games. After I signed up and verified my account, I clicked on the Cashier page and made a deposit of $200. The bonus funds were in my account instantly.
The minimum deposit to claim the welcome bonus is $10. There’s no maximum deposit limit, but the match amount maxes out at $200. Deposits made with PayNearMe or cash at cage don’t qualify for the welcome offer.
Tropicana Online Casino is operated by Caesars Entertainment, which means you can collect Caesar Rewards here. I love it when I can earn rewards at more than one casino, so I can enjoy those benefits sooner.
Since I was already a member of Caesar Rewards, I simply logged into their website to connect my Tropicana account.
During my Tropicana Casino review, there were multiple daily offers, including Two for Tuesdays, where for depositing $25 twice, I could get slot bonus funds, which I gladly claimed. I had to test out slots and different payment methods, so it seemed fitting to test out this bonus offer as well.
I first had to opt in for this bonus. It wasn't added automatically to my account like the welcome offer. To do this, I had to click on “My Bonuses & Offers” under my account, and click “Claim” to opt in to the promotion.
For the first deposit of $25, I got $10 slot bonus, which I could use on any slot game. For the second deposit of $25, I got an additional $10 slot bonus, but this time only on Shamrock Fortunes or Lang Bao Bao slot.
The bonus itself isn't bad, but it comes with the same steep wagering requirements of 25x, which is a bit too much.
Tropicana Casino has a functional and smooth design, but very, very outdated. Not something I would expect from Caesars Palace owned franchise.
The Tropicana homepage is bright and colorful, with black and green design elements, tropical palm trees, and flashy game icons taking up the entire screen. It feels very inspired by real in-person casinos, rather than digital, online platforms.
Along the top of the screen are four headings: Promotions, Mobile, Caesars Rewards, and Support. You’ll also find the Join Now and Login buttons on the right-hand side.
About halfway down the page, you’ll see the game menu which is divided into multiple categories.
Noticeably, there are no other slot categories or collections, or other way to search by software developer. I would have also liked to see the huge slots menu divided into more narrow categories.
I did find features a bit slow to load on the desktop site. It wasn’t too bad, but I saw the little loading wheel spin more often than I expected.
Site information, including the terms and conditions and privacy, are listed at the bottom of the page.
Tropicana has mobile apps for both iPhone and Android, but to be honest, they’re a letdown. You have to download separate apps depending on whether you're in NJ or PA, which already feels outdated and inconvenient. Most top casino mobile apps use geotargeting and therefore let you access everything from a single app, no matter which state you're in.
I usually like using mobile apps because they let me play on the go, but Tropicana’s app just didn’t deliver. Even though it has a few extras like push notifications and support for Apple Pay, the overall experience felt clunky compared to other casino mobile apps I’ve used.
I’m clearly not the only one who feels this way. The NJ app has a disappointing 2.1/5 rating on the Apple Store and just 2.3/5 on Google Play. These low scores speak for themselves. Right now, there are simply better options out there.

Tropicana Casino has over 1,780 games, including slots, table games, live dealers, video poker, and Slingo. It’s good to see Caesars offering the same wide selection across their various casino brands, as Caesars Palace Online Casino hosts a similar 1,800 games.
I couldn’t find a list of the game developers anywhere, although I did see top companies like NetEnt, IGT, and Big Time Gaming. It would be useful if Tropicana let players search by developer.
I was using the New Jersey casino site, so bear in mind that the game selection may be different in Pennsylvania.
With 1,678 game titles, slots dominate the selection at Tropicana Casino.
There are just a few categories to help you explore the slot games, including Featured, New, Trending, Megaways, and Slingo. I would have loved to see more categories added, like themes, exclusive titles, or software providers.
Tropicana lets you demo titles, so I could try games out before spending money. You can also find out some basic information by hovering over the game’s thumbnail and clicking the “i” button. This is handy if you like to choose games by the number of paylines, for example.
I sought out some of the top video slot titles, like Gonzo’s Quest (NetEnt) and Book of Slingo (Gaming Realms). Then, I tried some new-to-me titles like Squid Game Gganbu by Light & Wonder.
Here are my top-five slots at Tropicana Casino:
Game | Software Provider | RTP |
---|---|---|
Gonzo’s Quest | NetEnt | 95.97% |
Blood Suckers II | NetEnt | 96.94% |
Divine Fortune Megaways | NetEnt | 96.09% |
Hypernova Megaways | ReelPlay | 96.09% |
Book of Slingo | Gaming Realms | 96.37% |
Tropicana Casino offers 40 table games, primarily made up of blackjack, video poker, baccarat, and roulette. Blackjack fans especially will be happy to see 12 different variants of the game.
I tried out Super Fun 21 Extreme, a fun spin on blackjack that I hadn’t tried before. Then, I returned to old favorites American Roulette and Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em.
Again, I found that the game organization could be better. Clicking on Table Games only shows 30 titles, but there are also separate Roulette and Blackjack categories with 8 and 15 games respectively. To make things worse, some blackjack games appear in both the Blackjack and Table Games sections, but not all of them.
There are 25 games featured in the live dealer category. Along with live versions of blackjack, craps, and roulette, I was happy to see a few different games like Crazy Coin Flip and Stock Market Live.
I used about $80 of my funds exploring the live games, trying out a few of the blackjack games, and three-card poker. Although I don’t speak Spanish personally, it was great to see that Tropicana also offers two blackjack games in Spanish.
If you’re looking for something different, Tropicana offers video poker, as well as a few Keno and Lucky Tap games.
The video poker casino selection is solid with 17 different versions, from developers Spin Games and IGT. I made good use of the demo feature to try out the various versions on offer before losing $10 on Deuces Wild.
There are also 29 Lucky Tap titles. My favorite of the ones I tried was the 80s-inspired DMC DeLorean Lucky Tap.
Tropicana Casino 11 different casino payment methods, ranging from credit cards to e-wallets. Although there were a few noticeable methods missing, like Skrill, I was happy with the number of methods overall.
I tested out both the deposit and withdrawal processes, and had a mostly positive experience.

Deposit methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, e-check, bank transfer, PayPal, PayNearMe, Tropicana prepaid card, or by using cash at Tropicana’s Atlantic City casino. If you’re on the mobile app, Apple Pay will also be an option.
I was happy to see all four major US credit/debit cards offered. I’d like to see them add more electronic options, like Trustly, Skrill or Venmo, but I was able to make do with PayPal as my e-wallet option.
The minimum deposit amount at Tropicana Casino is $10, and there’s no maximum other than your own personal budget.
Here’s how to make a deposit:
Go to My Account, and click “Deposit.”
Select your payment method.
Enter the amount you want to deposit.
Confirm your information.
Click “Pay Now” to complete the transaction.
I made my first deposit of $200 using PayPal, which meant I had to confirm the email attached to my PayPal account. I was then redirected to the PayPal site to complete the transaction.
Later in the week, I made another $100 deposit but chose Mastercard this time. I was able to enter my card details right on Tropicana’s page and it went through instantly.
With both deposits, the money was added to my account in just a few minutes.

Withdrawn funds can be received via PayPal, e-check, Tropicana prepaid card, or in person at Tropicana Casino.
I was disappointed to see that debit/credit cards and direct bank transfers aren’t offered for withdrawals. They’re a common casino payment method at other online casinos, and bank transfer tends to be faster than an ACH electronic check.
The minimum amount you can withdraw is $10. Tropicana doesn’t charge additional fees to process withdrawals, but certain payment methods like PayPal will take a small percentage.
Here are the steps to make a withdrawal:
Click on “My Account”, and select “Cashier.”
Choose your payment method.
Enter the amount you want to withdraw.
Complete any requests for additional information.
Wait for processing.
I first requested a withdrawal of $50 through PayPal. Tropicana requires customers to have used PayPal for deposits before they can use it for withdrawals, and thankfully, I had. The money was in my PayPal after 3 days, taking a total of 78 hours.
I then tried out the Tropicana prepaid card option, requesting a $25 withdrawal. For this, I was instructed to set up a prepaid card account, which took a few extra minutes. It asked me to confirm my name, address, my SSN, and date of birth.
I received a notification that the withdrawal was approved in 3 days, but it took ten days to receive the card in the mail.
Overall, I felt that the withdrawal process was clear and the waiting times reasonable for the methods I chose. However, the limited methods to receive my winnings was definitely a drawback.

Customer support at Tropicana can be reached through the following channels:
Live chat: available 8am-12am EST daily.
Email: [email protected] in New Jersey or [email protected] in Pennsylvania.
Phone: 1-800-986-9248, 8am-12am EST daily.
There’s also a thorough FAQ page, with seven different categories including Geolocation, Promotions, Deposits & Withdrawals, and more. To reach the FAQ, click on the “Support” tab at the top of the page.
I started with the live chat option, by clicking on the “Support” bubble located in the lower left corner. It opened up a small chat menu for me to type my query.
Unfortunately, it didn’t connect me to an assistant right away. It will try to force the top FAQ page results to match your question, and I had to specifically choose an option to chat with a person. However, once I did connect with someone, I was easily able to get my questions answered.
I also tested out the email and phone options, finding them both satisfactory. As expected, live chat was the fastest method, but all three gave me the answers I was looking for.
Tropicana Online Casino is legal in two states, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The New Jersey site first launched in 2013, but was discontinued when it was absorbed into the Caesars Palace Online Casino. Caesars relaunched Tropicana Online in NJ in March 2023, and expanded into Pennsylvania in April 2023.
My Tropicana review is based on the New Jersey site. There may be slight differences for Pennsylvania players.
State | Welcome Bonus | Games | Payment Methods |
---|---|---|---|
New Jersey | 100% Deposit Match up to $200 | 1,780+ | Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover, PayPal, eCheck, Bank Transfer, PayNearMe, prepaid card, Cash at cage, Apple Pay |
Pennsylvania | 100% Deposit Match up to $200 | 1,580+ | Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, Discover, PayPal, eCheck, Bank Transfer, PayNearMe, prepaid card, Cash at cage, Apple Pay |
It was easy to sign up for an account at Tropicana Casino, taking me about five minutes in total.
I've outlined the registration steps below. Note that I signed up on the desktop site, but you can also create your account using Tropicana’s mobile app:
Fill out personal information: You’ll be asked to provide an email address, password, date of birth, address, and phone number. You’ll also have to create two personal security questions. If you received a bonus or referral code, you can also enter it here.
Agree to the terms: Check the boxes to agree that you’re over 21, agree to Tropicana’s terms, and that the information you’ve provided is accurate.
Complete security checks: Before you’re finished, you’ll be asked for the last four digits of your SSN. Tropicana also asks to set up two-factor authentication to protect your account. Click “Continue”.
Verify your account: This step is necessary before you can deposit money and start playing games. Tropicana uses Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification, which requires uploading a piece of ID that matches the information you provided.

Tropicana Casino has plenty of good things to recommend it, but in my opinion, there’s also room for improvement. I had high expectations with Caesars Palace being attached to this online casino, but it didn't live up to its name.
It’s a great casino if you’re a fan of slot games, with almost 1,700 titles and promotions targeted specifically around slots.
However, the wagering requirements at Tropicana Online Casino are quite high, at 25x for slot games and even higher for table games. Lower volume players will find themselves weighing the large game menu against the higher requirements, to see if it’s worth it.
The quality of the menu was also let down somewhat by the organization. I’d love to see them introduce some more categories and themes to make it easier to explore the different games. At the moment, it requires a lot of scrolling.
The Caesars Rewards program is another positive feature at Tropicana. By earning rewards at multiple casinos, those points will rack up quickly and this is a loyalty program with great rewards.
Another negative was the limited payment methods for withdrawals. With just four options to get your winnings, I’d really like to see Tropicana add other options like credit cards and other e-wallets to make withdrawals more convenient.
My overall experience at Tropicana Casino was okay at best, but there are definitely extra steps that it could take to stand out more. To begin, they really should update the site and the mobile app. Doing just that would vastly improve my experience.
Tropicana Casino has a responsible gaming link located at the bottom of their site. This page outlines their commitment to promoting gambling as a safe and fun activity, as well as a list of self-assessment questions, and information about preventing underage gambling.
There’s also a section dedicated to responsible gambling at the FAQ page, which can be found under the “Support” heading. It has answers to nine commonly asked questions about responsible gambling.
Tropicana provides links to national and state resources if you need further help, including:

We take a hands-on approach to rating online casinos, which we call the BetEdge Ratings Method. Writers are given a budget of $1,000 that they can use to make deposits, claim promotions, and play games.
For my weeklong Tropicana review, I spent just $300 of my total $1,000 budget. This went towards claiming promotions and testing out various deposit methods. I also had $200 in bonus funds from my welcome offer match to play with.
I spent at least two hours evaluating each of these five areas:
User Experience: This refers to the overall design and functionality of a casino, including how it performs on both desktop and mobile devices.
Games: We explore the game menu, playing slots, table games, live games, and anything else a casino offers. We’re looking for a good variety of games from top software developers.
Promotions: We claim every promotion that a casino offers, including welcome bonuses, weekly specials, and loyalty programs. For every offer, we read through the terms and conditions for the details we think you should know.
Payment: Using the provided budget, we test out the deposit and withdrawal process, evaluating the different payment methods as well as the speed and difficulty of processing payments.
Customer Support: We contact customer support directly via live chat, email, and/or phone to measure how fast, friendly, and knowledgeable their support team is.
With our hands-on testing process, you can trust that we have personal experience at every casino. From setting up accounts to making withdrawals, we’ll share both the positive and negative aspects of a casino.
Our team of writers brings years of industry experience and a genuine love for online gaming to every assignment. We write the reviews that we would want to read ourselves. We also have editors regularly update reviews to reflect ongoing changes in this fast-paced industry.
Our reviews will help you make the best decision about where to spend your time and money online.
To help you achieve this we also created an online casino learning hub where you can learn everything from how to play poker to the difference between real money casinos and sweepstake casinos.
