Renato Moicano vs. Chris Duncan - Lightweight Division

Like at this summer’s upcoming World Cup, it’s a clash between Brazil and Scotland, as veteran Moicano aims to bounce back from a two-fight skid against teammate Duncan. The 36-year-old is the +144 underdog with FanDuel, however, as “The Problem” looks to extend his win streak to five.

An impressive stoppage to defeat Benoît Saint Denis back in September 2024 has not been followed up well by “Money Moicano”. He has lost his last two bouts heading into the weekend, first being submitted in the first round by Islam Makhachev, and then losing by unanimous decision to Beneil Dariush at UFC 317 last June.

As for Duncan, he’s entering into this bout hot, winning his last four consecutive fights, and losing just one of his last nine. The Scot has finished three of his four most recent victories, all by submission. However, it won’t be easy against an experienced fighter like Moicano who has a superb ground game himself.

There’s a chance Duncan lands a heavy shot to finish this fight early, given Moicano’s age, but the Brazilian has the tools to more than hold his own on the mat. This one could be closer than the odds suggest.

Virna Jandiroba vs. Tabatha Ricci - Women’s Strawweight Division

A shot at the women’s strawweight belt is most likely on the cards for the victor of this fight. No. 3 ranked Jandiroba goes head-to-head with No. 7 ranked Ricci, with the former the -130 favorite with FanDuel. Jandiroba is hoping to return to winning ways after failing to claim the Strawweight Championship belt against Mackenzie Dern at UFC 321 back in October.

Prior to her most recent loss to Dern, the 37-year-old had racked up an impressive five-fight win streak, including victories over Amanda Lemos and Yan Xiaonan. It was a close loss against Dern, and a win for Jandiroba over the rising Ricci would put her firmly back into championship contention.

Ricci has made impressive strides since joining the UFC, boasting a 7-2 record with the promotion. She has picked up excellent wins against the likes of Gillian Robertson, Angela Hill, and Amanda Ribas in that time, so will be no pushover for Jandiroba here.

Abdul Rakhman Yakhyaev vs. Brendson Ribeiro - Light Heavyweight Division

Undefeated Yakhyaev is on the hunt for his second UFC victory on Saturday against Ribeiro, and is the huge -2500 favorite with FanDuel for this light heavyweight bout. It appears it would be a seismic shock if the Turkish representative wasn’t able to win this fight, with his Brazilian opponent entering the fight on the back of consecutive defeats.

It’s likely Yakhyaev finishes the fight early, given the fact just one of his eight career fights so far has gone the distance. He needed just 33 seconds to submit Rafael Cerqueira in his promotional debut last November, and knocked out Alik Lorenz after just 30 seconds in Dana White’s Contender Series.

Ribeiro will have to lean on his UFC experience to even get a sniff at winning this fight, but a 2-4 UFC record doesn’t bode well for the 29-year-old. He was finished early by both Azamat Murzakanov and Oumar Sy in his last two outings, both inside the first round. This doesn’t look like a favorable matchup at all for “The Gorilla”.

Ethyn Ewing vs. Rafael Estevam - Bantamweight Division

A last-minute bout for Ewing has given “The Professor Finesser” a bit of respect within the UFC after he defeated Malcolm Wellmaker at UFC 322 by unanimous decision last November. That explains why he is the -156 favorite with FanDuel against Estevam, but the Brazilian is yet to suffer a career defeat thus far, and has a strong 3-0 UFC record.

The only problem for Estevam is that he has missed weight in two of those three UFC fights, but he’s moving up a weight class into bantamweight here. He’ll look to leverage his strong ground game in this one, while Ewing’s effective striking ability and distance control could see him get the upper hand in the standup game.

Tommy McMillen vs. Manolo Zecchini - Featherweight Division

Another undefeated fighter in McMillen enters the Octagon on Saturday, as he squares off against Italian fighter Zecchini. “Gun” is the sizable -1800 favorite with FanDuel in what is his promotional debut. Zecchini is looking for his first UFC victory after losing to Morgan Charriere in his opening bout, and hasn’t fought since September 2023.

McMillen secured a majority decision win against David Mgoyan in Dana White’s Contender Series last September in what was the only fight in his career thus far to have gone the distance. Five of his nine career triumphs have been by submission.

Jose Delano vs. Robert Ruchala - Featherweight Division

Finishing up our UFC Fight Night preview is Delano vs. Ruchala in the featherweight division. Delano earned his UFC debut after beating Manuel Exposito by unanimous decision in Dana White’s Contender Series last August, while Ruchala has impressed in Poland’s premier MMA promotion KSW, losing just one of his nine fights.

Ruchala did lose by unanimous decision in his UFC debut, however, against William Gomis back in September. He’s the +265 underdog with FanDuel for this bout. It will be a tough matchup for him against Delano’s power and striking ability.
