The Guardians slugger has been seeing the ball well over the first two games of this series, despite his one hit. He is 1-4 at the plate, but has walked four times. That gives us plenty of confidence that he’ll find a way to go deep tonight, even against a tricky pitching matchup.
One big reason we are backing Ramirez tonight is that he has been fantastic at home all season, batting .289 with 16 home runs and 43 RBIs.
That is bad news for Tigers’ starter Jack Flaherty (8-15, 4.64 ERA, 1.28 WHIP), who has been awful on the road in 2025. He is 3-7 with a 5.27 ERA on the road, with opponents hitting .260. While he isn’t known for giving up home runs, that hasn’t been the case in the postseason. He started five postseason games for the Dodgers last season and allowed six home runs, going 1-2 with a 7.36 ERA.

Greene struggled to get on base this season, but it didn’t prevent him from launching 36 home runs this season. The slugger's success mostly came against right-handed pitchers like the one he’ll face tonight, batting .276 with 32 home runs.
He has also seen an uptick in power when on the road, where he has hit 21 of his 36 home runs. That includes Progressive Field, where he has three home runs and a 1.027 OPS this season.
Greene and the Tigers will be facing Slade Cecconi (7-7, 4.30 ERA, 1.13 WHIP). The 26-year-old pitcher has won two of his three at-bats against Greene, but that was during the regular season. Now, the young pitcher will be making the first playoff start of his career. Add in the fact that it's an elimination game, and the pressure will be off the charts. That will make Cecconi more vulnerable, and we believe Greene will take advantage of that today.
While Cecconi will be at home, he hasn’t pitched well there in 2025. He is 2-4 with a 4.78 ERA and allowed 14 of his 24 home runs.

The Cubs' 27-year-old first baseman broke out in 2025, finishing the season with 34 home runs and 90 RBIs. He closed out the season with eight deep balls in September, and we believe he will add his first one of October today.
Busch’s power is enough for us to back him on most days, but we believe he has a great pitching matchup to start Game 3. The Padres will be sending former-Cub Yu Darvish (5-5, 5.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP). While he has incredible postseason numbers, it appears age and injuries have taken their toll. He has surrendered 12 home runs over his last 10 starts (48 ⅓ innings).
Darvish has been struggling against left-handed hitters all year, allowing a .529 slugging percentage and eight home runs over 136 at-bats. With Busch being a lefty, we believe he’s the best bet to go deep in this one.
