The 2025 World Series is set to kick off today as the Los Angeles Dodgers head north to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. These two teams have a ton of power in their lineup, giving us a great chance to win some money on home run props. When you have a rookie lefty starting, Shohei Ohtani is going to be your best bet to take him deep. The soon-to-be four-time MVP is batting .279 with 15 home runs against lefties, leading the Dodgers. Add in the fact that he went deep three times in his last game, and you can see why we are eager to lock this one in.
Ohtani will be facing Trey Yesavage to start today’s game. The rookie is 2-1 with a 4.20 ERA across three starts this postseason, allowing two home runs over those 15 innings.
While those aren’t bad numbers for a young pitcher, this is the World Series. That pressure, along with a historically great Dodgers lineup, will lead to Yesavage making some mistakes.

With Blake Snell on the mound for the Dodgers, we are avoiding backing any Blue Jay hitters. That brings us to Freddie Freeman, whose odds make him a fantastic bet to go deep for game 1.
The 26-year-old isn’t the slugger he once was, but still hit 24 home runs while batting .295 this season. He has just one home run in the postseason, but his numbers are almost identical to last season, leading up to the World Series. Once it began, Freeman went deep in the first four games. That kind of experience is crucial, especially when facing a rookie starter on the mound.
We also like Freeman due to his impressive play away from Dodger Stadium this season. He has a .303 average on the road, where he has smacked 15 of his 24 long balls. While he hasn’t played in Toronto this season, he did bat .333 with a home run over nine at-bats there last season.
