After months of waiting, the 2026 MLB season is here at last!
Thursday’s slate of games features some fantastic matchups and gives us a chance to see some of the league’s biggest stars play with their new teams. We believe the season will start with a bang, with plenty of fantastic home run prop bets available on the board.
Bryan Reynolds has a 1.031 career OPS against Freddy Peralta
Andrew Vaughn batted .320 with six home runs at American Family Field in 2025
Pete Crow-Armstrong hit two long balls during the WBC

While most of the league’s top power hitters will all be in the lineup today, we are going deeper for a couple of our bets today. Below are the three players we’re locked in on.
Our first home run prop bet of the game comes at a fantastic price. The veteran outfielder only had 16 long balls last season, seeing his offensive numbers drop across the board. While we have doubts he’ll return to hitting 25+ this season, he's well set up to start hot.
Reynolds will be facing a familiar face with former Brewers ace Freddy Peralta on the mound for the Mets. Reynolds has faced the veteran 39 times over his career, posting a .385 average and 1.031 OPS. It seems the Pirates star plays his best against Peralta, making him a great longshot bet for opening day.
On top of that, betting on the beleaguered Mets to break their fans' hearts on opening day is all too easy.

Last season, Andrew Vaughn found a new home with the Milwaukee Brewers. The White Sox traded him after early-season struggles landed him in AAA. However, the 27-year-old quickly got a shot with the Crew, batting .308 with nine home runs over 64 games.
Vaugh was especially great at home for Milwaukee, with a .320 average and six home runs in 103 at-bats there last season.
While we aren’t ready to guarantee a repeat of his 2025 success, he will start the season strong as he faces his former team. The first baseman was meant to be a major part of the struggling team’s future, but he gave up on him last season. Vaughn has thrived in emotional spots with the Crew, and we see him being eager to show the White Sox what they’re missing.

PCA broke out for the Cubs in a big way last season, putting him in a tight NL MVP race with Shohei Ohtani for much of the season. However, that changed in August, when he posted a measly .160 average with only one home run. Those struggles extended into September and October, leading to a quick exit from the playoffs for the Cubs.
While PCA’s falloff was disappointing, it wasn’t unexpected. The 24-year-old was playing in his first full MLB season, and clearly didn’t have the stamina to make it.
The ultra-competitive outfielder is eager to return to elite status and will want to do so early. He had two long balls in the World Baseball Classic, and we think that will have him ready to send one over the ivy at Wrigley Field on Thursday.
