After successfully cashing the NRFI in the contest between the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates last night, we go back to the well on Tuesday as another pair of productive arms are set to take the mound. Shortly after their opening pitch, we turn our attention towards the San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves as both pitchers face off against two struggling offenses.

While Tarik Skubal hogs most of the spotlight as the betting favorite for the AL Cy Young award, his supporting cast has quietly been very productive and have played a major role in the Detroit Tigers success this season. Casey Mize is one of the starting arms who have helped elevate Detroit to World Series contending status as the Tigers pitcher is currently averaging an ERA of 3.15 and a FIP of 3.89.
Heading into Tuesday, Mize will have a great opportunity to sustain his high level of play on the mound as he faces off against a Pittsburgh offense who ranks in the bottom ten in Contact Rate, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, On Base Percentage, and in Slugger Percentage. Especially with his back end providing him with a high level of support as the Tigers defense ranks above league average in Defensive Efficiency.
On the other side of the field, Mitch Keller is set to battle it out against a Tigers offense who is in the midst of a cold stretch of play. Unfortunately for Detroit, their struggles on offense are poised to persist as Keller excels at avoiding contact. In his 20 starts this season, Keller is averaging an ERA of 3.48, a WHIP of 1.143, a FIP of 3.33, and less than one Hit Allowed per Inning Pitched.

While not much has gone right for the Atlanta Braves offense this season, their pitching staff has managed to play at a high level as their rotation ranks in the top half of the board in Total Pitching ERA. Davis Daniel has played a key role in their overall success as the Braves pitcher is currently averaging an ERA of 1.80, a FIP of 3.09, and a WHIP of 1.000.
Against San Francisco, Daniel is in a favorable position to build on his momentum as he faces off against an offense who struggles with making contact at a consistent rate. As of writing, the Giants offense ranks below league average in Contact Rate and in Slugger Percentage. Their aggression at the plate has hurt their ability to make contact as the Giants offense ranks 20th overall in Strikeout Rate.
As for Landen Roupp, the Giants pitcher will have a great opportunity to get off to a hot start as he also faces off against an offense who ranks below league average in the same previously mentioned offensive metrics. Even though his WHIP is alarmingly high, Roupp has been able to keep opposing runners stranded on base as his ERA of 3.27 and FIP of 3.66 indicates.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies - Erick Fedde vs. Bradley Blalock - With Bradley Blalock set to take the mound for Colorado, we continue to fade the Rockies defense as the struggling pitcher is currently averaging an ERA of 9.97, a WHIP of 1.800, and more than one Hit Allowed per Inning Pitched.
