The opposing team’s starting pitcher should always be taken into account when making a home run prop. With Zack Littell, who is making his Reds debut on Tuesday, leading the majors in home runs allowed, several players on the Cubs make good targets for home run props. Littell has been particularly bad about giving up home runs on the road this season, so pitching for a new team shouldn’t make a difference.
Despite Suzuki only having one career at-bat against Littell, he might be the best option in the Chicago lineup to go deep on Tuesday. Suzuki has plenty of power with 26 home runs on the season. He’s had no problem hitting home runs at Wrigley Field and has hit 18 of his 26 home runs against right-handed pitchers, so facing Littell is a good matchup for him. While Suzuki has been in a home run slump, he has too much power for that to continue, so facing Littell could be the remedy he needs.
Suzuki has +360 odds to hit a home run on Tuesday. Those are the shortest odds of anyone on the Cubs. However, with the Dinger Tuesday promotion, those +360 odds can become +540 odds. That means a $10 bet will have a profit of $54 if Suzuki hits a home run.
