NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Donovan Mitchell, Jamal Murray & More Picks for Tuesday, March 24

As the game turns on another day in the NBA, I’m back with five of my favorite player prop picks for the day’s slate of games.

Young Daniss Jenkins continued to shine in Cade Cunningham’s absence, going for 30 points, eight assists, and a game-winning shot as the Detroit Pistons ended the Los Angeles Lakers’ nine-game winning streak. Pascal Siakam and Paolo Banchero also went toe-to-toe with 37 and 39 points, respectively, but it was the Indiana Pacers who finished on top of the Orlando Magic.

There are only four games tonight, and the best of those is the nightcap, in which the Phoenix Suns will host the Denver Nuggets.

Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Tuesday, March 24.

Maxime Raynaud Under 17.5 Points (-120) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Raynaud might’ve scored 22 or more points in four of his last five games, but he also went 1-3 from the field and scored just four points against the Charlotte Hornets on March 11. The second-round rookie has put together some impressive numbers recently, but I expect that to come to a grinding halt against a team playing at a very high level.

The Hornets allowed the third-fewest points per game over their last 15 contests, and they enter tonight’s matchup having enjoyed two days off while riding a three-game winning streak. Raynaud is playing well, but this is a hefty burden, given the lack of production and creativity around him.

Mikal Bridges Under 1.5 Threes (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Ever so slightly, the New Orleans Pelicans have started to impress on the defensive end. They ranked 10th in made threes allowed per game over the last few weeks, but even more impressively, they held their opponents to a league-best 31.6 percent shooting from deep during that same time.

Bridges enters the matchup having gone under in nine of his last 11 games and only shot 32.7 percent from three on 4.3 attempts per game. He went 0-1 from deep in his only previous matchup with the Pelicans this season and has a strong chance of cashing the under.

Donovan Mitchell Over 27.5 Points (-114) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Mitchell went under this line in six straight games and only averaged 24.0 points per game in March. He also shot 43.1 percent from the field and 31.4 percent from three during that same time, both of which are below his season averages and would make it difficult for him to get over this line.

That said, Mitchell is still taking a ton of shots, and he was unlucky to be at his most inefficient level during the games in which he attempted the most shots. He was knocking on the door with 25 points despite shooting 37.5 percent from the field against the Orlando Magic 13 days ago, and I think he can cash the over tonight as the Magic are on the second night of a back-to-back.

Jamal Murray Under 23.5 Points (-108) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Murray is close to completing a career season, having averaged 25.1 points and 7.1 assists per game for the Denver Nuggets. While he was playing out of his mind earlier this year, he cooled down a little as of late, going under this line in four of his last five games.

The former NBA champion scored exactly 23 and 24 points in two matchups with the Suns this season. Phoenix’s defense has been stingy and ranked fifth in points allowed per game over their last 15 contests, and Murray taking fewer shots in recent games makes me believe that he will cash the under.

Jalen Green Under 21.5 Points (-106) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Green, similar to Murray, was playing at a very high level early in the month, although he cooled off recently. He went under in four of his last five games and shot 40 percent or worse from the floor in three of those games, while the Suns lost five of their last six games.

The Nuggets were only 19th in points allowed per contest over their last 15 outings, but they have pieces in Christian Braun and Cam Johnson who are more than capable of putting together solid defensive sequences and possessions together. Devin Booker is a known quantity, but Green’s inconsistency means that he isn’t.
