Al Iaquinta (14-4-1) vs. Donald Cerrone (35-11-1) – Lightweight division

Al Iaquinta will be facing someone below him in the UFC rankings Saturday night, but who could pass up the opportunity to fight a legend like Donald Cerrone. Cerrone recently returned to the lightweight division after spending time at welterweight. Cerrone emphatically beat lightweight prospect Alexander Hernandez.

Iaquinta, 31, last fought on December 15, 2018, where he headlined the final UFC on Fox card against the trash talking Kevin Lee. Iaquinta won a five-round unanimous decision over Lee and was rewarded with a performance of the night bonus. Iaquinta’s previous fight was against lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, which he took on one day’s notice.

Raging Al stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and possesses a 70 inch reach. He fights out of Garden City, New York where he trains with the Serra-Longo Fight Team. Iaquinta has a kickboxing and wrestling style but also has a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Matt Serra.

Donald Cerrone, 36, last fought, as mentioned earlier, against Alexander Hernandez at UFC Fight Night on January 19 of this year. Cerrone landed a head kick in the third round that led to a TKO victory. Before that, Cerrone fought his last fight at welterweight again Mike Perry. Cerrone took the victory via a first-round submission.

Cowboy stands at an even 6 feet tall and has a 73 inch reach – three inches more than his opponent. He is a former kickboxer where he went 28-0-1. He fights out of the BMF Ranch. Cerrone has a black belt in gaidojutsu and a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Eliot Marshall.

Derek Brunson (18-7) vs. Elias Theodorou (16-2) – Middleweight division

Derek Brunson, 35, is coming off of a devastating loss to the now interim middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 230 on November 3, 2018. He is riding a two-fight losing streak dropping his bout before Adesanya to Jacare Souza. Both losses came via TKO.

Brunson stands at 6 feet, 1 inch tall and his reach is 77 inches long. The southpaw fights out of Wilmington, North Carolina. He trains with Renzo Gracie Jiu-jitsu and Jackson’s MMA. He was an NCAA division II wrestler and has a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under David Branch.

Elias Theodorou, 30, last fought in his hometown of Toronto at UFC 231 on December 8, 2018. There he defeated Eryk Anders via split decision. Unlike his opponent, Theodorou is riding a three-fight win streak heading into May 4. He has not finished a fight since 2015.

”The Spartan”, who stands 6 feet, 1 inch tall, has a 75.5 inch reach. He has an orthodox stance and fights out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He trains with Grants MMA and Tristar Gym. Theodorou has a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a dark blue belt in Muay Thai.

Cub Swanson (25-10) vs. Shane Burgos (11-1) – Featherweight division

Cub Swanson, 35, is currently riding a three-fight losing streak. His last loss came on August 4, 2018 where he lost to Renato Moicano via first-round rear-naked choke. Prior to that Swanson lost back-to-back fights against Brian Ortega and Frankie Edgar respectively. He is currently ranked tenth in the UFC featherweight rankings.

”Killer” fights out of Palm Springs, CA., where he trains with coach Greg Jackson at Jackson Wink MMA and stands at 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He has an even 70 inch reach. Swanson also boasts a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Rigan Machado. He has been with the UFC since 2011 and fought with the WEC prior to that.

Shane Burgos, 28, last fought in New York at UFC 230 on November 3, 2018. It was there where he fought, and defeated, Kurt Holobaugh by armbar submission in the first round. Prior to that fight, Burgos was handed his first professional loss at UFC 220 in January of 2018.

”Hurricane” stands at 5 feet, 11 inches tall and has a 75.5 inch reach – a 5.5 inch advantage over Swanson. He trains out of Monroe, New York with the Tiger Schulmann team where he has a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He has been an active mixed martial artist since 2013.

Brad Katona (8-0) vs. Merab Dvalishvili (8-4) – Bantamweight division

Canadian Brad Katona, 27, had his last UFC fight on the UFC 231 card in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. On the card, Katona fought and defeated Matthew Lopez via unanimous decision. The fight with Dvalishvili will be his third UFC fight.

”Superman” stands at 5 feet, 6 inches tall and has a 64.5 inch reach. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, Katona fights out of Straight Blast Gym in Dublin, Ireland with head coach Curtis Brigham. He is undefeated in both his professional and amateur career.

Merab Dvalishvili, 28, last fought at UFC Fight Night 136 on September 15, 2018. He defeated Terrion Ware by a three-round unanimous decision. Prior to that bout, Dvalishvili had dropped two fights in a row – one by submission and one by decision.

Dvalishvili stands at 5 feet, 6 inches tall, just like his opponent, and has a 68 inch reach – giving him the advantage over Katona. The Georgian-born fighter trains with the Serra-Longo Fight Team gym out of Garden City, New York.

Marc-Andre Barriault (11-1) vs. Andrew Sanchez (10-4) – Middleweight division

Marc-Andre Barriault, 29, spent most of his fighting career thus far in the light heavyweight division but has recently found himself cutting down to middleweight. He last fought at TKO 44 on September 21, 2018. He won by TKO in the first round. His fight on May 4 will be his first for the UFC promotion.

The “Power Bar” stands at an even 6 feet and possesses a 73 inch reach. The Quebecer trains under head coach Patrick Marcil at the Patenaude Kung Fu gym in Quebec, Canada.

Andrew Sanchez, 31, had his last fight on August 25, 2018 where he won a three-round unanimous decision at a UFC Fight Night event. Prior to that, Sanchez was coming off back-to-back TKO losses.

”El Dirte” stands at 6 feet, 1 inch tall. He has a 73 inch reach – equal to his opponent. He has an orthodox stance and fights out of St. Louis, MI. with Finney’s HIT Squad. He, too, has previously fought at light heavyweight.
