Vandals target Rooney who may end up staying at Man United, Liverpool supporters attacked, GARETH BALE, and More Links
Published by adam | Filed under Links, Miscellaneous, Serie A, Transfer Rumors

This week has of course been overshadowed by one unhappy and unfit striker. Read below to find out more about the latest in the Rooney ordeal, attacks on Liverpool Fans, some Car Vandalizing, and some Transfer Talk.
Hooligans stage a demonstration at Wayne Rooney’s house. (Mirror Football)
Okay, now its gone too far. After Rooney refused to confront the 30 or so protesters (good decision by the way), they unveiled a banner stating ‘If you join City, you’re dead.’ I am not sure if they have forgotten we are talking about a sport. Now there are rumors that he may stay at the club. Death threats work I guess.
Napoli fanatics get out of hand and assault Liverpool supporters. (Who Ate All the Pies)
So I get it, this is why the Italians all sing “Noi non siamo Napoletani.” (We are not from Napoli). 3 men have been charged with attempted murder in connection with the attacks. Good for them. The weapons these guys had stored in their houses are priceless.
Is Gareth Bale the best English Footballer? (EPL Talk)
After a disgraceful 4-0 deficit to Inter Milan, Bale turned on the guns and carried Tottenham to a respectable 4-3 loss. The youngster recorded a hat trick while blowing past world class defenders Maicon and Javier Zanetti. Well done Mr. Bale.
Long Range Goals: The Success Story of Major League Soccer (The Yanks are Coming)
Can we really call the MLS story a success? In terms of strengthening youth development programs, beating the odds, sure. Since the beginnings, the league has been home to international stars albeit past their prime. Pele, Beckenbauer, David Beckham, Freddie Ljungberg, Thierry Henry, Rafeal Marquez, etc…
Who torched Andy Carroll’s car? (The Spoiler)
After being released from jail for allegedly hitting his girlfriend, Andy Carroll has been shacking with Kevin Nolan, only to find that his car has been torched! Something was also spray-painted on Nolan’s garage door. Soccer.net explained that “Carroll had bought the car earlier this month to celebrate signing a new five-year deal with the Magpies, but vandals set it alight shortly after 7pm BST on Wednesday.” Looks like Carrol’s girlfriend, or his girlfriend’s friend, or someone his girlfriend hired was busy that Wednesday night.
Frank Rijkaard to replace Roy Hodgson. (Caught Offside)
Liverpool has a vital couple of weeks ahead of them to see them out of the regulation zone. Hodgson is not really bringing anything new to the club and with new ownership, may well be on his way out.
