The Cubs have a new young superstar in Pete Crow-Armstrong. The 23-year-old is doing a bit of everything for the Cubs, including delivering the eighth-most home runs in baseball. With the MVP candidate getting a favorable pitching matchup today, we love his chances to add another long ball to his growing total.

The 23-year-old has broken out in a big way for the Cubs in 2025. He is eighth in the league with 21 home runs, leading to an impressive .542 slugging percentage. The outfielder hasn’t gone deep since Jun 21 as he was mired in a short slump. However, he appears to be back on track to start July.
PCA will face a familiar foe on the mound in Miles Mikolas (4-5, 4.76 ERA, 1.32 WHIP). The Cardinals’ veteran put together a fantastic campaign in May, but came crashing back down to Earth in June. He went 0-3 with a 6.58 ERA and allowed six home runs over 26 innings pitched.
Mikolas won’t be excited to see the young star tonight, as he has three hits and two home runs over just four at-bats.

Soto didn’t make the Yankees regret making him walk when he returned to Yankee Stadium in May. However, the star was still struggling to adjust to his new team, which he did in June. The superstar finished the month with 11 home runs, 20 RBIs, and a .322 batting average. With his confidence brimming, you can bet he will be ready to impress his former squad this time around.
The Yankees will be starting veteran Marcus Stroman (1-1, 8.16 ERA, 1.67 WHIP) today. He was awful to start the season, but delivered a solid outing when he returned from the IL last week after missing almost two months. That start came against the A’s, whose lineup is far less potent than the Mets' one he’ll face tonight.
Soto has a .300 against Stroman over ten at-bats, going deep once.

Nobody has been hotter than Shohei Ohtani over the last couple of weeks. The three-time MVP has gone deep five times over his previous nine games. He now has the third-most home runs in baseball (30), sitting close behind Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh.
Ohtani will be facing Lance McCullers Jr. (1-3, 6.61 ERA, 1.62 WHIP) on the mound for Houston. The veteran is finally back on the mound after missing the last 2.5 seasons, but it hasn’t gone well. He was shelled in his previous start, allowing the Cubs to go deep three times and score eight runs over 3 ⅓ innings.
The Dodgers lead the league in home runs and are one of the few teams with a better lineup than Chicago, so expect to see another ugly start tonight.
