Objects in motion tend to stay in motion. In other words, when a power hitter is in a groove, bet on him to stay in a groove. That was our strategy on Wednesday, as we targeted hitters who have been hot lately and put together long hitting streaks. Other factors were considered as well, but that’s how we decided on most of today’s home run targets.

The "Schwarbombs" don’t look like they’re going to stop anytime soon. Schwarber is up to 44 home runs on the season after hitting his seventh homer of August on Tuesday. He’s already homered in back-to-back games more than half a dozen times this season, so what’s one more?
More importantly, Schwarber has an ideal matchup against Luis Casillo. Schwarber is 6 for 20 with four home runs in his career against Castillo. Meanwhile, Castillo is coming off a start in which he gave up three home runs to the Mets. He’s now allowed six homers in just 15.1 innings in August, so facing Schwarber and company at Citizens Bank Park could be a problem.

The Yankees hit nine home runs in Tampa’s minor-league park on Tuesday, but now it’s time for the Rays to unleash their own power. Cam Schlittler gets the start for the Yankees. He’s already given up six home runs in just 29.1 innings this season, with right-handed hitters slugging .537 against him.
That leads us to Caminero, who homered against Schlittler earlier this season. Caminero has also hit eight home runs in August, giving him 35 on the season. He’s also slugging .609 at home (as opposed to .439 on the road) and has showcased more power against right-handed pitching, so all of the stars are aligned for Caminero to go deep on Wednesday.

Minnesota’s Bailey Ober is one of 11 pitchers to give up 24 home runs or more this season. Of those 11 pitchers, Ober has thrown the fewest innings, making him the most homer-prone pitcher in the big leagues. Left-handed hitters have hit a majority of those home runs, which is why we’re targeting Soderstrom to do the damage against Ober on Wednesday when he faces the A’s.
Soderstrom is already 2 for 6 with a home run in his career against Ober, albeit in limited at-bats. Of his 22 homers, 19 have come against right-handed pitchers, thanks to a .501 slugging percentage. Soderstrom is also in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak and is batting .327 in August, so he’s swinging a hot bat that makes a home run more realistic for him.

Lindor is also among the hottest hitters in baseball right now, as he has a seven-game hitting streak. In those seven games, Lindor has five multi-hit games, four doubles, and three home runs. He’s in such a groove that he offers great value in a home run prop.
For what it’s worth, Lindor is 2 for 2 in limited action against Brad Lord, who starts for the Nationals on Wednesday. To be fair, Lord hasn’t given up many home runs this season. However, most of the long balls he’s allowed have come at home and against left-handed hitters, two factors that also play into Lindor’s favor.
