Best MLB Home Run Props Today: Familiar Names with Big Value

Published: April 1, 2026, 09:00 AM ET

Wednesday’s MLB schedule is mostly day games, which can sometimes limit the amount of runs scored, especially early in the season. On the other hand, it does provide incredible value for home run props, even among players who typically have shorter odds. We’re trying to use that to our advantage by picking some familiar names with big value on Wednesday.

Best MLB Home Run Props Today 2026 04 01

Yordan Alvarez Anytime Home Run (+470) at FanDuel Sportsbook

With home runs in back-to-back games, it’s shocking to see Alvarez with home run odds this lucrative. The guy is just tearing it up during the first week of the season, going 8 for 21 with three home runs and two doubles. His early-season power has been incredible, so why not ride the hot hand?

In fairness, Alvarez faces a tough matchup on Wednesday against Boston’s Garret Crochet. However, Alvarez is 2 for 5 with a double against Crochet. Plus, he’s not going to face the lefty in every at-bat. After betting correctly on Alvarez to go deep yesterday, we’re sticking with him another day.

Juan Soto Anytime Home Run (+430) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The only thing Soto hasn’t done during the first week of the season is hit his first home run of 2026. He already has three multi-hit games and two doubles over his first five games. He looks locked in at that plate, so Soto’s first homer feels inevitable.

Similar to Alvarez, Soto will have a lefty-on-lefty matchup on Wednesday, as the Mets face Matthew Liberatore. But Soto is also 3 for 5 with a double in his career against Liberatore. He also has a chance to do damage against a tired St. Louis bullpen late in the game, which also gives this bet great value.

Alex Bregman Anytime Home Run (+680) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Cubs fans may be a little disappointed that Bregman is batting .190 through the first week of the season. But he does have two home runs to his credit, so it hasn’t been all bad news. Plus, Bregman has a favorable matchup against Yusei Kikuchi of the Angels.

In his career, Bregman is 7 for 20 with two home runs and three doubles against Kikuchi. More importantly, Kikuchu was vulnerable to the long ball last season, giving up 24 home runs, most of which came against right-handed batters. Even if Bregman isn’t red-hot at the plate right now, this matchup is too favorable to ignore with +680 odds.

Andrew McCutchen Anytime Home Run (+630) at FanDuel Sportsbook

McCutchen is certainly a familiar name, although a shocking one to see attached to a home run prop. However, the 39-year-old former MVP is 5 for 11 with a home run and two doubles during the early part of the season. McCutchen is off to a fast start with the Rangers and is worth a shot given his home run odds for Wednesday.

The matchup with Baltimore’s Trevor Rogers is what drew our attention to this bet. McCutchen is 6 for 12 with three home runs in his career against Rogers. While Rogers doesn’t give up a ton of home runs, that’s enough of a track record to think McCutchen can stay hot and hit a home run on Wednesday.
