We have an intriguing pitching matchup in Toronto as Jacob deGrom will square off against Chris Bassitt. deGrom is having a great season and Bassitt’s numbers are at the top of the league this season. 

deGrom enters this game with a record of 10-5 and a 2.86 ERA. When he is healthy, he is one of the best pitchers in the league and he is proving that again in 2025. 

deGrom has struck out 143 batters in 135.1 innings which makes him one of the best NRFI pitchers in MLB. Strikeout pitchers are essential for successful NRFI betting. 

Bassitt has been very impressive this season with a 11-6 record. He has averaged almost a strikeout per inning and has a career 3.65 ERA. 

In Bassitt’s last two starts, he has pitched 10.5 innings allowing four runs on seven hits. He has done a great job of limiting walks, which is also essential for NRFI betting. 

The Blue Jays have the best team batting average in baseball hitting .268 as a team. deGrom will have to be on his game to shut down this lineup in the first inning. 

Ultimately, I trust deGrom and Bassitt more than the offenses in this game which is why I am taking this NRFI wager.

Phillies vs. Nationals - Zack Wheeler vs. MacKenzie Gore (6:45 PM, EST)

Zack Wheeler currently has the second shortest odds to win the NL Cy Young Award just behind Paul Skenes. If it weren’t for Skenes, Wheeler would be the best pitcher in baseball this season along with Tarik Skubal. 

MacKenzie Gore will go up against Philadelphia’s offense, and I think he is ready for the challenge. 

Wheeler comes into this matchup at 10-5 with a 2.68 ERA in 144.2 innings. He has fanned 189 batters which is the most in the league. 

The Phillies lineup is loaded with talent, but Gore is no stranger to facing powerful lineups. When Gore is on his game, he can be one of the filthiest pitchers in the league because of his mix of his pitches. 

Philadelphia is hitting .253 as a team which is the sixth best in baseball. Gore will have to get ahead in the count and put batters away early to avoid chaos on the bases. 

Wheeler is one of the best NRFI pitchers in baseball and I don’t think he will have a problem with Washington’s lineup. I expect him to go deep into this game and dominate.

• Yankees vs. Cardinals - Luis Gil vs. Andre Pallante: Gil is 0-1 with a 7.27 ERA since returning from injury. Pallante has been slightly better, but both pitchers have struggled tremendously. This could be the highest scoring game of the day. 

• Diamondbacks vs Rockies - Brandon Pfaadt vs. Tanner Gordon: Gordon has an ERA north of 8.00 and Pfaadt has been extremely inconsistent. Everytime these teams square off there are plenty of runs scored.
