Thursday’s MLB slate features a terrific pitching between Shota Imanaga and Logan Webb. This game has the lowest total of the day and there shouldn’t be much scoring with these two on the mound.

The best pitching matchup of the day is taking place in San Francisco and I think the offenses will struggle tremendously. Shota Imanaga gets the start for the Cubs against Logan Webb of the Giants.
Imanaga enters this matchup with an 8-6 record to go with a 3.03 ERA. He has struck out 90 batters in 110 innings and has one of the most efficient arms in baseball.
In Imanaga’s last two starts, he has pitched 14 innings while allowing just three runs on six hits. If he performs like this on Thursday, he should get through the first frame with ease.
Webb is one of the best strikeout pitchers in baseball, fanning 180 batters in 166.2 innings. He is 12-9 with a 3.13 ERA and has a fantastic pitch arsenal.
Chicago’s bats have cooled off, so I think Webb should dominate this matchup. They hit better as a team on the road, but Webb is an experienced pitcher that will not make hitting easy.
The Giants have the third worst team batting average in the league hitting just .231 as a club. This type of performance is the difference between competing in October and missing the playoffs.

The second NRFI wager I’m targeting is in Diamondbacks vs. Brewers game. Nabil Crismatt has little experience this season, but he has been great when given the opportunity.
Crismatt is 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA. He has struck out nine batters in nine innings allowing just one run.
Crismatt pitched four innings in his last start and didn't allow a single run in four innings. If he can cut down his walks, he can easily get through the first inning.
The Brewers will counter with Jose Quintana and he has been fantastic in 2025. The pitcher is 10-4 with a 3.32 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP.
Quintana has struck out 75 batters in 111 innings and he is one of the best pitch-to-contact arms in baseball. If he is efficient like he has been all season long, Arizona will struggle on offense.
Milwaukee has the second best team batting average in the league. This is a great challenge for Crismatt and I think he will perform well.
I trust the starting pitching to start this game off with a scoreless inning to cash our NRFI wager.

Rockies vs. Astros - Kyle Freeland vs. Jason Alexander: Betting the YRFI in Colorado is smart because of bad pitching and altitude. Freeland is 3-13 with a 5.31 ERA.
Braves vs Phillies - Cal Quantrill vs. Aaron Nola: Both Quantrill and Nola have struggled on the mound. The offenses are solid and I expect early runs.
