Jaxson Dart threw for only 139 yards in his last outing against the New England Patriots
Dart is listed as one of the betting favorites for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award
The Washington Commanders' defense ranks below league average in Pass Rush PFF Grade
After missing nearly a month of play due to injury, Jaxson Dart struggled to find his footing in their latest loss to the New England Patriots as the New York Giants rookie quarterback threw for only 139 yards. Luckily for Dart, he will have a great opportunity to round back into form in a favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders as he faces off against a defense who severely struggles in coverage.

Before going down with an injury, Jaxson Dart was climbing up in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds as the New York Giants quarterback ranks above league average in quarterback EPA per play. While his efficiency is less to be desired, Dart’s ability to stretch the field has helped keep their drives alive as he also ranks near the top of the board in Big Time Throw Percentage.
In an NFC East divisional matchup against the Washington Commanders, Dart will have a great opportunity to build on his momentum as he faces off against a defense who ranks well below league average in Def DVOA and in Pass Rush PFF Grade. For some more exposure, escalator bet Dart’s passing yardage prop by placing smaller wagers on his alternate overs.

While Dart has played at a high level, the Giants ground game have struggled to give their offense the support they need to be a well-rounded unit as Tyrone Tracy Jr and Devin Singletary both rank below league average in Yards Over Expected per Attempt. The Giants offensive line have played a major role in their struggles as their front five resides in the bottom ten in Run Block Set Grade.
Unfortunately for Tracy, his struggles in the backfield are poised to persist against the Commanders as he faces off against a front seven who ranks top-5 in Run Defense Line Yards. With Dart in a position to thrive, the Giants may also revert to a heavier pass play script which will eat away at Tracy’s usage rate and increase his chances of staying under the total of his rushing yardage prop.

Since leaping over Jacory Croskey-Merritt on the depth chart, Chris Rodriguez Jr has been able to capitalize on his heavier workload as he leads his teammate in Yards per Carry. Even with his offensive line ranking near dead last in Run Block Line Yards, Rodrgiuez has still been able to consistently reach the second level of the defense while generating Yards After Contact.
Heading into Sunday, expect Rodriguez to put together a dominant performance as he faces off against a Giants defense who ranks dead last in Run Defense PFF Grade. With the Giants struggling to clog the running lanes, Rodriguez will be able to generate a high volume of explosive runs once he gets past the line of scrimmage.

When near the goal line, Rodriguez has been the focal point of the offense as he currently leads the team in Red Zone Carries while converting 25% of his Rush Attempts into touchdowns. With the Giants struggling to stop the run, expect Rodriguez to take advantage of their lack of pressure in the trenches and punch one in for six.
