Cooper Kupp’s path back to the Super Bowl was never supposed to be with the Seahawks. The Los Angeles Rams quietly suggested it might be time for him to walk away from the game last season, but he didn’t believe he was done.
The suggested retirement didn’t sit well with Kupp and for good reason. He was a franchise legend who helped the Rams win a Super Bowl while becoming one of the best players at his position.
Kupp knew he had energy left in the tank, and he has proven that with the Seahawks.

Kupp left Los Angeles and signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks, betting that he still could play at an elite level. That bet has paid off in a massive way.
Now, Kupp is headed back to the Super Bowl, having not only revived his own career but helped launch another superstar in the process.
From the opening weeks of the season, it was clear Kupp was far from finished. While he may no longer be the focal point, he is still a playmaker for Seattle. He consistently moved the chains on third down, including a big catch in the NFC Championship against his old team to seal the deal.
Kupp also quickly became a mentor to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the Seahawks’ ascending star who has put together one of the most impressive wide receiver seasons in recent memory.
Smith-Njigba caught 119 passes for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is widely expected to win AP Offensive Player of the Year at NFL Honors.
While the production speaks for itself, those inside the Seahawks’ building point to Kupp’s influence as a major reason for the breakout.
Kupp helped Smith-Njigba master the details that separate good receivers from great receivers. There are countless reports of them putting in extra work together on the field and in the film room.
The pairing has been a winning combination for the Seahawks. Defenses couldn’t focus solely on Smith-Njigba with Kupp still capable of exploiting mismatches underneath.
Their chemistry has made the duo that much more deadly. They formed one of the most complete receiving duos in the league, blending youth, explosiveness, and veteran precision.
Kupp already knows what it takes to win on football’s biggest stage, having been Super Bowl MVP winner during the Rams’ championship run. That experience matters now more than ever.
Kupp understands situational football. He understands how to beat top defenses, and this is exactly what he will need to do against the Patriots.
The Rams may have believed Cooper Kupp’s best football was behind him, but he has proved them wrong. Kupp’s receiving prop in the Super Bowl isn’t too high.
It’s currently set at 32.5 (-110 at FanDuel Sportsbook, which is more than doable. Whether he surpasses this line or not, Kupp will be in a great position to make his presence felt in the big game.
The Seahawks are favored to win the Super Bowl over the Patriots. If they get it done, Kupp will be memorable in the game.
