Jaxon Smith-Njigba is expected to win AP offensive Player of the Year
Seahawks vs Patriots is a Super Bowl rematch from 2015
Smith-Njigba is the biggest X-Factor for the Seahawks’ offense
This year’s Super Bowl is a fascinating matchup, as it marks a rematch of the 2015 Super Bowl in which the Patriots defeated the Seahawks 28–24. Sam Darnold now gets a chance to earn some revenge for Seattle, and he has plenty of weapons around him to do just that.
The biggest of those weapons is Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who has been the best wide receiver in the NFL this season. I expect him to have a massive performance on the biggest stage, which is why I’ve selected three Smith-Njigba player props for the Super Bowl.

Smith-Njigba has put together the best season of his young NFL career, and at times he’s looked almost unguardable. I expect that trend to continue in the Super Bowl, which is why I’m taking the over on his receiving yards.
He finished the season with 119 receptions for 1,793 yards, forming an elite connection with Darnold along the way. In the NFC Championship Game, Smith-Njigba torched the Rams for 153 receiving yards, and I expect a similar type of performance in this matchup.
The Patriots’ defense has been excellent down the stretch, particularly up front with Milton Williams creating pressure. However, Seattle is the better team at almost every position, and their offensive line should give Darnold enough time to operate.
If Darnold is given even a little time to throw, Smith-Njigba is going to have a field day in Santa Clara. He presents a mismatch that no defense can consistently cover, and I see him easily eclipsing 100 receiving yards in the Super Bowl.

Smith-Njigba hasn’t just been piling up yards as he’s been a touchdown machine as well. He finished the season with 12 receiving touchdowns and has found the end zone in every playoff game so far.
Outside of Kenneth Walker, Smith-Njigba is the Seahawks’ go-to option in the red zone. He’s also capable of turning any catch into a long gain, which is how many of his touchdowns have come this season.
Even if New England commits extra attention to him, Smith-Njigba will still find ways to produce. His elite route running and ability after the catch are exactly why he’s been so successful at the NFL level.
I expect Smith-Njigba to score at least one touchdown in the Super Bowl thanks to his matchup advantage and his ability to create big plays, even on shorter routes.

My final Smith-Njigba prop is over 6.5 receptions, and this is my favorite of the three. He’s going to be a focal point of Seattle’s game plan from start to finish.
Even if New England manages to limit him in terms of explosive plays, Smith-Njigba will still see plenty of volume. He thrives on short screens, slants, and quick hitters, which makes this prop extremely reliable.
Smith-Njigba averaged 6.9 receptions per game this season and hauled in 10 catches in the NFC Championship Game. Seattle moved the ball effectively in that matchup against the Rams, a defense that shares similarities with New England’s.
This prop is heavily juiced for a reason. Vegas knows Seattle will prioritize getting Smith-Njigba involved as much as possible. He’ll line up all over the field and has a strong chance to deliver another breakout performance.
