The main event this weekend will take place at the Accor Arena, and there’s no doubt there will be an explosion of noise for French middleweight Nassourdine Imavov as he comes out to a home crowd. Imavov is pitched against Brazilian contender Caio Barralho in a clash that will surely end the summer with a bang instead of a fizzle.

Both of the big men are coming into this ranking in the top 10, respectively. With Borralho looking to maintain his undefeated streak and Imavov on a conquest to cement himself as the top French fighter in the division, it’s doubtful that both fighters will be looking for anything less than a convincing win.

Coming off the back of an accomplished TKO victory over Israel Adesanya earlier this year, Imavov has sought to build up some serious momentum going into this fight and in his UFC tenure as a whole. Known for his bombshell strikes and explosive knockout power, there is little that has gotten in his way. Fighting on home soil could mean a win is written in the stars for Imavov, but when you’re toe-to-toe with a pressure bomb like Borralho in the ring - sometimes even the most passionate home advantage isn’t enough to tip the scales.

Borralho is unbeaten in the UFC and has undoubtedly been a revelation so far, blowing his last seven opponents away with his decisiveness and tactical southpaw fighting style. His mental rigidity and experience in his trained disciplines could prove fruitful in his travels to foreign turf for this fight. Despite being just older than Imavov and marginally shorter, Borralho has a snarl and a grit about his game that not many fighters would feel confident in facing.

With the odds narrowly favoring the Brazilian, we’re siding with Caio Borralho, who sits at -138 with FanDuel.

Benoit Saint-Denis vs. Mauricio Ruffy – Lightweight Division

14-3-0RECORD12-1-0

Known for being a crowd favorite in Paris for obvious reasons, Benoît Saint-Denis has been one of the most cutthroat and unabated fighters of recent times. It’s in Mauricio Ruffy that he may face his first real challenge, a rising talent in the sport, combining razor-sharp strikes with a reliable takedown defence.

Ruffy dictates his own pace, which may be a jarring change for Saint-Denis, but one we’re sure he will rise to. Bearing in mind that the two fighters are looking to climb the lightweight rankings and make more of a name for themselves, this bout has more riding on the line than just their records.

Saint-Denis has been nailed down as a staple in the French MMA scene for a while now, and he’s one of the more aggressive fighters in the division currently. With his last win coming back in May this year by unanimous decision, he has every right to show what he is made of in front of the French home crowd this weekend.

Ruffy has stormed his last 12 fights, still brandishing the badge of being undefeated. Excelling mainly down to his overwhelming ability to dictate tempo, the aggressive nature of Saint-Denis could be exposed in more ways than one if Ruffy is able to slow things down and pick the Frenchman apart bit by bit. If the environment proves to be too hostile for Ruffy, however, all tactics could fall by the wayside.

Despite Saint-Denis’ home advantage, our money is on the rising contender Mauricio Ruffy, priced at -205 with FanDuel.

Paul Craig is one of the most unpredictable fighters at this level, a deadly submission architect in his own right. But it’s fair to say that age could be catching up with him. Looking at his recent run of fights, they have proved to expose a few holes in his otherwise bulletproof armour.

Modestas Bukauskas, on the other hand, has been pounding wins out relentlessly, with some serious victories over three other high-level fighters of late. He has the double whammy of reach and striking power to keep Craig docile as well, which instantly makes him the favorite for us as we head into Paris this weekend. The only way Craig could pull this one out of the bag is if he capitalizes on grappling exchanges, but trying to wear Bukauskas down is a risky game.

Craig’s grappling threat is dangerous, but we’re backing Modestas Bukauskas to get it done; he’s currently -390 at FanDuel.

Patricio Pitbull vs. Losene Keita – Featherweight Division

Bellator legend Patricio "Pitbull" Freire is set to make another highly anticipated UFC appearance this weekend. The former two-division Bellator champion, holding both featherweight and lightweight belts, brings a wealth of experience and invaluable knowledge as he looks to solidify his name on the sport's biggest stage.

In the cage with him is youngster Losene Keita, who has faster mobility. He’s looking like a real hot prospect for the future, and with only one loss to his name, it's clear why. The Belgian striker has blitzed his previous opponents with unrelenting speed, pinpoint precision, and heavyweight-like knockout power.

At just 27 years of age, Keita is only now entering his prime, which is a scary thought. As a marquee test - which this matchup obviously is - it’s perfectly designed to display the potential talents of Keita, especially against one of the most respected fighters of the modern era.

This generational clash will make for intriguing viewing. Can the explosive hunger of youth trump the wise pedigree of a real champion? All will be revealed this weekend. The oddsmakers have Keita as the clear favorite, and we agree. Losene Keita at -230 with FanDuel is our pick here.

Bolaji Oki vs. Mason Jones – Lightweight Division

OKITALE OF THE TAPEJONES

10-2-0RECORD16-2-0

This lightweight battle is bound to deliver fireworks this weekend. Facing off is Bolaji Oki who has proven himself time and time again to be a deadly striker and “The Dragon” Mason Jones who has satisfied with his classy all round game - meaning he has the slight edge going into this bout.

This is not to say the Belgian Oki hasn’t impressed recently, outworking Michael Aswell isn’t an easy feat. But he just about edged it, snapping up a nine-fight winning streak as he did so. Our impression, though, is that Jones won’t be as easy to dominate; he bides his time well, dictates his own pace, and exploits an opponent’s weakness with astute precision.

Oki will bring the fight, but we’re leaning towards the more experienced Mason Jones, who sits at -146 on FanDuel.

Oumar Sy vs. Brendson Ribeiro – Light Heavyweight Division

SyTALE OF THE TAPERibeiro

11-1-0RECORD17-8-0

Set for Fight Night prelims this weekend, French giant Oumar Sy will be pitched against Brazilian powerhouse Brendson Ribeiro in this lightweight match-up.

Sy will be fighting on home turf, entering the contest with a formidable 11-1 record and enough physical acumen to dismantle a tank at 6’4” with an 83-inch reach. He is also looking to bounce back from his recent unanimous decision loss to Alonzo Menifield back in July. Despite this though, he has remained a solid choice going into the fight with sportsbooks like Fanduel pricing him at -520 to win.

Ribeiro on the other hand plans to reprise his role as an all-round powerhouse by bumping his 17-8 record up a notch. He’s currently sitting as the underdog at +350 with his recent loss coming in his last bout to Azamat Murzakanov from an explosive first round TKO after a ground and pound of barrages.

It’s hard to look past the Frenchman here. Oumar Sy is the heavy favorite at -520 on FanDuel, and rightly so in our opinion.
