In September, there’s always a chance that the number of home runs starts to go down, as temperatures get cooler and players feel the pressure of the playoff push. However, we’ve managed to identify a few hitters for Monday who are red-hot and have a favorable matchup that should allow them to go deep.

For a player with 45 home runs on the season, it’s surprising to get odds this good. Never mind the fact that Suarez is 4 for 9 with three home runs over his last two games. He slumped a little after being traded to Seattle, but Suarez now looks to be heating up again.
Monday’s matchup against Miles Mikolas should also help Suarez stay hot. He’s 9 for 19 in his career, with four of those nine hits being home runs. That’s a big enough sample size to favor Suarez against Mikolas on Monday. Plus, Mikolas has given up 24 home runs this year to go along with his 4.89 ERA, so he’s vulnerable to the long ball.

It was something of a toss-up between Alonso and Juan Soto with the Mets facing Aaron Nola on Monday. Nola has a 6.78 ERA this season, giving up 15 home runs in just 69 innings. It’s a safe bet that Nola is going to give up at least one home run to the Mets on Monday.
While Soto is red-hot at the moment, Alonso’s career numbers against Nola are far better. Alonso is 18 for 55 (.327) with six home runs. Keep in mind that Alonso has posted those numbers during years when Nola was an elite pitcher, so we’re betting on him to crush the 2025 version of Nola that’s been a trainwreck.

Facing Garrett Crochet is usually a problem for opposing teams, although he gave up four home runs in his last start and has yielded eight long balls since August 11. Naturally, most of the homers Crochet has given up have come against right-handed hitters, of which the A’s have plenty.
While Nick Kurtz has slightly better power numbers, Langeliers is crushing lefties this year, hitting .363 with a .690 slugging percentage. The A’s catcher is also 6 for 18 with a pair of doubles through the early part of September. Given his numbers against lefties this season, it’s worth taking a shot on Langeliers to take Crochet deep on Monday.

Anytime the Royals face a right-handed starter, it’s worth at least considering Pasquantino for a home run prop. At the moment, Pasquantino is 7 for 16 with two doubles and a home run over his last four games. Not only has he hit 24 of his 29 homers against righties, but Pasquantino is swinging a hot bat at the moment.
Meanwhile, Cleveland’s Slade Cecconi is an obvious victim to give up a homer or two. Cecconi has allowed at least one home run in nine consecutive starts. He’s given up 22 homers on the season across 107.1 innings. Cecconi has also seen his ERA skyrocket from 3.72 to 4.78 since the start of August. In short, he’s endured great struggles lately, and a power hitter like Pasquantino can take full advantage of that.
