Friday’s slate of games brings us some fantastic matchups, including one between the Kansas City Royals and the NL East-leading Philadelphia Phillies. While most fans know Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber, his Royals counterpoint, Vinnie Pasquantino, is still making a name for himself. Below, we’ll share why we are betting on both stars to go deep tonight, along with one other home run prop we are locking in.

While he may not be a household name, the 27-year-old first baseman has been leading the Royals all season. He has 29 home runs and 100 RBIs, already making this the best season of his young career. With the slugger posting ten long balls last month, we think he has plenty more left in him down the final stretch of the season.
A big reason why we like Pasquantino tonight is that Walker Buehler (7-7, 5.45 ERA, 1.56 WHIP) is on the mound. The 31-year-old has been awful, leading him to be sent down to the minors last month. He’ll be making his first start back in the big leagues tonight, but we haven’t seen anything to suggest the former star has figured things out.
Left-handed hitters like Pasquantino are batting .317 with a .877 OPS against Buehler this season.

The Phillies' surprise MVP candidate has cooled off in September, though he’s improved over the last few days. That momentum will continue at home tonight, where he owns a 1.021 OPS.
You don’t need much reason to bet on Schwarber to go deep on most days, but tonight’s matchup makes it especially appealing.
He’ll be facing a struggling starter in Michael Lorenzen (5-10, 4.63 ERA, 1.33 WHIP), who is coming off another tough game. He allowed the Twins to score four runs on seven hits in 5 ⅓ innings. He also surrendered two home runs.
Lorenzen has faced Schwarber 22 times, but the slugger is winning the battle with a .364 average and two touchdowns.

If left-handed pitching didn’t exist, Riley Greene would be kind.
While that isn’t the case in real life, Greene has been incredible against righties all season. He’s posted 30 of his 33 home runs against them and a .284 average. Considering he will be facing a badly broken right-handed pitcher tonight, we expect him to stay hot tonight.
Sandy Alcantara (8-12, 5.67 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) will be taking the mound for the Marlins. The former superstar seemed to be turning a corner in August, but opened September by allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings. We saw the same version we had seen before he got hot last month, suggesting his struggles will continue.
