The Jaguars have won six in a row and beaten the spread in all six games
Five of Jacksonville’s six wins during its winning streak have come by at least two touchdowns
Travis Etienne has scored 13 total touchdowns in 15 games
Even amidst a five-game losing streak, the Indianapolis Colts have become one of the most interesting teams in the NFL. They are close to an excruciating playoff collapse, with the hopes that a 44-year-old quarterback fresh out of retirement can save them. That makes this week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are on a six-game winning streak, one of the more intriguing matchups on the Week 17 schedule.
Heading into Week 17, the AFC South remains undecided, although the Jaguars are the clear favorites to finish on top. If that ends up happening, Liam Coen will have a strong case for Coach of the Year honors, given what the Jags have accomplished during the second half of the season. As for the Colts, even amidst their losing streak, they can still lean on Jonathan Taylor, who is on pace to lead the NFL in rushing and remains one of the top candidates for Offensive Player of the Year.
Since this is an important game for both teams with interesting storylines on both sides, it’s perfect for putting together a same-game parlay.

As long as the spread is less than a touchdown, there’s no reason to bet against the Jaguars in this game. Not only is Jacksonville riding a six-game winning streak, but the Jags have beaten the spread in all six games. Also, five of those six wins have come by two touchdowns or more, so regardless of the opponent, they are beating teams convincingly.
Meanwhile, the Colts have lost five in a row, as they have collapsed late in the season. To their credit, three of those losses have come by four points or less. But if the Indy defense has a bad game, as they did last week against the 49ers and against the Jags earlier this season, they don’t have enough offensive firepower behind Philip Rivers to keep this game close. The Jaguars are scoring 34.2 points per game during their six-game winning streak, and if they get anywhere close to that number, they should have no problem covering a touchdown or more against the Colts.

If the season had started in November, Lawrence might be the NFL MVP. He’s performed at an elite level during that time and only seems to be getting better every week. He’s surpassed 240 passing yards in four of his last five games, including last week against one of the best defenses in the NFL.
This week, Lawrence will face one of the worst pass defenses in the league. The Colts have conceded the third-most passing yards in the NFL this season. To be fair, some of that is because they played with a lead for most of the first half of the season. But they also got shredded by Brock Purdy for 295 yards last week. Lawrence had 244 passing yards against Indy a few weeks ago and should reach a similar number this week.

The Jaguars have scored a minimum of 25 points in eight straight games, so they are likely to find the end zone at least three or four times against the Colts. That should make Etienne a safe pick to score a touchdown, even if this doesn’t add tons of value to a parlay. He has at least one touchdown in six of his last seven games, so at this point, it’d be a surprise if he didn’t keep that up.
Granted, the Colts have only allowed a modest 13 rushing touchdowns in 15 games. However, keep in mind that Etienne has seven rushing touchdowns and six more receiving touchdowns. Five of those receiving touchdowns have come in the past five weeks. He’s the main figure in the Jacksonville offense, so in a game in which the Jags should score plenty of times, Etienne is bound to have one of them.
