After successfully cashing the NRFI in their previous contest, we continue to fade the San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers as they are set to face off against another pair of productive arms on the mound. Later in the night, we turn our attention towards the Athletics and Houston Astros as JP Sears has the opportunity to round back into form with a favorable matchup against an offense who struggles with getting into scoring position at a league average rate.

After getting off to a productive start to the year, the Detroit Tigers' Jack Flaherty has seemingly cooled off as he is currently averaging an ERA of 4.39 and an FIP of 4.43. Even during his cold stretch of play, Flaherty has still excelled at avoiding contact as he is averaging less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched. The Tigers' defense also grades out very well in coverage as the current AL Central division leaders rank sixth overall in Defensive Efficiency.
With his back end limiting the amount of contact variance in his starts, Flaherty will have a great opportunity to round back into form on Tuesday night as he faces off against a San Francisco offense who struggles to make contact and get on base at a competitive rate. As of writing, the Giants lineup currently ranks below league average in Team Total Hits and in On Base Percentage. Expect Flaherty to get off to a hot start and keep a clean sheet in the first inning.
On the other side of the field, negative regression looms large over the Tigers' offense as they are set to face off against NL Cy Young contender Logan Webb who has been dominant since the start of the season. Heading into Tuesday, Webb averages an ERA of 2.67, an FIP of 2.13, and more than one Strikeout per Inning Pitched. Like Flaherty, Webb also receives a high level of support from his back end as the Giants rank above league average in Defensive Efficiency.

Speaking of the Cy Young, Hunter Brown has hovered near the top of the oddsboard for the award as the Houston Astros pitcher is currently averaging an ERA of 2.04, a WHIP of 0.908, and a FIP of 2.61. His ability to avoid contact and create Whiffs at a high rate has played a major role in his success as he averages less than one Hit Against and more than one Strikeout per Inning Pitched.
Every bit of his individual production will be needed against the Athletics as the A’s offense ranks above league average in Team Total Hits, RBIs, Total Runs Scored, and in On Base Percentage. Fortunately for Brown, his defense will help neutralize the Athletics bats as he is supported by a back end who ranks top-10 in Defensive Efficiency and in Fielding Percentage.
As for JP Sears, the Athletics pitcher is in a favorable position to thrive as he faces off against an Astros offense who ranks below league average in Total Runs Scored and in RBIs. Their struggles with getting into scoring position will be on full display against Sears as he averages a WHIP of 1.148 and less than one Hit Against per Inning Pitched. Expect Sears to exploit the Astros' struggles and finish the first inning without conceding an Earned Run.

Colorado Rockies vs. Chicago Cubs - German Marquez vs. Cade Horton - Both offenses are in a position to open up the scoring early on in their contest as the Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs face off against a pair of arms who average over one Hit Against per Inning Pitched and an ERA higher than 4.00.
