For hitters, posting the most runs in the MLB for a season is a combination of getting on base frequently and having a strong lineup behind the player that can drive them in often.
Over the past several seasons, Mookie Betts has continually scored over 100 runs and found himself always in the mix for the top run-scorer in baseball.

After his blockbuster move to Los Angeles, Mookie Betts sits atop of one of the best lineups in recent memory.
Betts, the MLB leader in runs in each of the last two seasons, is the odds-on favorite to take the runs title but at 9-1, we’re a little surprised that his odds aren’t higher.
Although Dodger Stadium suppresses run production, Betts will benefit from hitting ahead of Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, and several other very talented Dodgers teammates. Expect Betts to be on his way to another win in the league’s runs scored category.

The incredibly talented Atlanta outfielder seems to flourish hitting atop the Braves lineup. Last season, Acuna played 156 games, posted a National League-leading 715 plate appearances and scored a league-high 127 runs.
Acuna, just 22 years old, posted one of the best seasons ever for a 21-year old in 2019. Not only did the outfielder hit 41 homers, drive in 101 runs from the leadoff spot, but he added a league-high 37 steals.
If anyone can challenge Betts for the MLB runs lead, it’s Acuna.
Despite the rough offseason clouded in the shade of the 2017 cheating scandal, bookmakers feel that the Houston Astros third baseman’s natural talent makes him one of the odds-on favorites for scoring the most runs in MLB in 2020.
Hitting second in a talented lineup helps Bregman, but his on-base percentage that always hovers around .400 makes the third baseman a run-scoring machine and a strong competitor for the MLB lead in runs.

Juan Soto of the 2019 world champion Washington Nationals has just turned 21 and his plate discipline and high hit tool give him a terrific chance of scoring the most runs in 2020.
Last season, Soto played in 150 games, so he’ll have to add 5-10 more games to that total to have a shot of clipping players like Acuna Jr. and Betts.

Yelich has blossomed since his move to Milwaukee, hitting 80 homers over the last season despite missing 47 games over the last two years. And therein lies the problem for Yelich winning the runs title, a nagging back has derailed his 2019 MVP run and most likely keeps him on the sidelines when the runs scored champion is crowned.
Playing for the Boston Red Sox, outfielder Mookie Betts scored an MLB-high 135 runs in 2019.
Mookie Betts has led MLB in runs scored twice, in 2018 and 2019.
Trout has led MLB in runs scored three times, in 2012, 2014, and 2016.
